10 Minute Christmas Ornament Challenge

Inspirational Challenge

Sorry I’m late with my 10 minute Challenge this week.  Life has been quite busy lately and it looks like it’s only going to get busier!  This is the inspiration I was given to work with for the challenge.  The pictures of these Christmas ornaments were taken by fellow design team member, Debbie, at a place called Bronner’s in Frankenmuth, MI.  Believe it or not, I’m pretty sure I visited Bronner’s when I lived in Michigan!

Ready!

Alright, it’s time to get started.  I decided to base my project around the Christmas bulb in the middle of the bottom row.  The one with the candy cane and holly.  Here we go!

Bells & Boughs and Sweet Centers

The first order of business was to run to the Circle Scissor Plus with some Cherry Cobbler cardstock in hand.  After that, I grabbed up the Bells & Bough stamp set as well as the Sweet Centers stamp set and did some gold heat embossing.

After some cutting and adhering I was done.  Let’s see how I did.

Done!

Woo Hoo!  I did it with a couple seconds to spare!  Now if I hadn’t grabbed up the silver encore ink pad and inked my stamp before realizing my mistake (meant to grab Versamark), I probably could have saved some time and even been done early.

Alright, ready to see it?

Handmade Christmas Ornament

Here it is!  I’s a Christmas Ornament all ready to go on a Christmas tree!  I originally thought it would be fun to put a Sweet Treat cup behind the bells that was filled with pretty ribbons.  I quickly changed my mind though when I couldn’t find any Sweet Treat cups!  Maybe I’ll have to give it a try some other time, I added some to my order last evening!

Bells & Boughs stamp set

Here’s a close up of the bells.  I embossed them in gold onto Very Vanilla cardstock and then cut them out.  After that I adhered them to some brushed gold cardstock and cut out another layer.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my 10 minute project!  Tomorrow begins the week long Holiday Madness Blog Tour!  Be sure to check back each day for new exciting projects and then proceed through the tour to see what everyone else has to show!

  1. This is a great ornament, or even a super gift package tie-on. I like how you layered your paper behind the bells – its add a nice texture. Great use of 9-ish minutes!! 🙂

  2. As usual very pretty.

  3. Gorgeous ornament and so simple! I too think this would also make a lovely gift tag. I don’t think I could do any of this in 10 minutes – it would take me that long just to get the stuff out! LOL! Thanks for blessing my evening.

  4. Hi Becky beautiful ornament and great job on the 10 minute part of the challenge.

  5. Oh – I really like how this turned out! Great job!
