10 Minute Sketch Challenge Card

Stamping Sketch Challenge

This weeks challenge is to make a card, using this sketch, in just 10 minutes.  I’ve decided to pull out some new things, which I haven’t had time to play with yet, and use those!

Let's go!

I’m ready to get some stamping done!

Crumb Cake & Early Espresso

I’m afraid this is the only picture I was able to take as I zoomed through making this card.   As you can see here, I stamped the Medallion stamp onto the Early Espresso cardstock (one of our new colors!) using Early Espresso classic ink.  This is the first time I’ve worked with this color.

The other color I used for the card is our Crumb Cake (a new name for our same old Kraft color!)  Can you see the stamp on the Crumb Cake strip there?  I used the Sense of Time stamp set which isn’t knew to the catalog, but it is a new set in my collection.

I don’t have any Early Espresso colored accessories so I had to make my own using Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon and a Kraft Corduroy Brad with Early Espresso ink.

Unfortunately I didn’t do so well with my time this week.  I’ve been on such a roll but this time I didn’t make it, it took me almost 12 minutes this time.   Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I stamped the words crooked and decided to restamp it which meant I also had to restamp the Medallion too.

Okay, are you ready to see the finished product?

Sense of Time stamp set

Here we are!  I used the Medallion, the clock and the brad as my three circles (instead of ovals) and I put an extra layer of cardstock but otherwise I think I stuck to the sketch pretty well.  What do you think?

Handmade card for a girl or guy

In a way this card seems like a funny one for me to make.  Between the fact that I was working on a timed challenge and that my life has been rather hectic this week (but when isn’t it???) then I go and use a clock stamp!  It’s just kind of amusing to me.  I must say though, the quote on the card by Bonnie Friedman is very true.  “An unhurried sense of time is in itself a form of wealth.”  I sat down this afternoon and read an entire book, just for the fun of it – that time of relaxation was worth a lot to me!

Thanks for stopping by today to see my card!
