5th Avenue Floral Cards

As promised, I sat down last night and this afternoon to come up with some cards.  I received the 5th Avenue Floral stamp set for free from one of my upline members as a prize and I’ve been wanting to use it.  The three cards I’m going to share with you use that particular set.

For YourThis card is very simple yet has a bit of an elegance.  The rose is embossed in gold onto brushed gold cardstock.  I really like the effect of embossing in one color on top of cardstock of that same color, it gives  a really neat effect.  The “for you” is from All Holidays, also embossed in gold.

To make the card use a piece of 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ Chocolate Chip cardstock , layered with the brushed gold cardstock which is 4″ x 5 1/4″.  Then, cut another piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock 4 1/4″ x 6 3/4″, punch the scallop edge and score and fold at 5 1/2″.  Adhere the folded over scallop to the original piece, tie on a little Kraft Taffeta ribbon and voila!

Wedded Bliss

The Wedded Bliss card is also a simple one to make.  The roses are embossed in black to make them stick out more and then the saying, from the Congrats Sale A Bration set, is stamped in Bravo Burgundy to coordinate with the wide grosgrain ribbon.  A piece of Styled Silver Hodgpodge Hardware dresses it up and completes the card.

Praying for you . . .The idea for this card was inspired by a fellow stamper and then I changed it up to fit with my ideas and materials.  With Vintage Brads, Pretties Kit Pearls and Chocolate Chip Taffeta ribbon there is a definite Antique look to the card.  I ran the Baja Breeze cardstock through the Big Shot with one of the Stampin’ Up! background Texturz plates to give a little texture.  To color the rose, I used a sponge and collected a little ink from the Baja Breeze stamp pad and then gently “smeared” the sponge around the image to just give a touch of color.

Have I inspired you to use this set yet??  I’m sure you’ll be seeing more samples on here using this set.  As you’ve probably noticed, I really like the rose!

Happy stamping!
