A Little Something New

Stampin' Up! 3D projectI came up with a little something new yesterday when I sat down to stamp!  I don’t know, others may have made these before, but they were new to me.   I made these cute little memo boards!   I am hoping to be able to sell them at the Markets at Shrewsbury where I have some other items.

post it memo boardI have a bunch of “leftover” pieces of cork board and wanted to find a cute and useful way to use them so I cut it with my Big Shot and the Bird with Leaves and Flower die.  On the left is a half stack of post it notes and I actually handmade memo boardsstamped on every page so there will always be a cute little image.  The buttons are from the Button Bouquet and seemed like a cute way to dress up the branch.  One of the boards has flowers from Flower Fusion Too in place of the buttons.  I was trying to get a little variety in styles

I have made a total of four of these thus far.  You can see them on a display stand here.  There are magnets on the back so they’re great for a refrigerator.   They should make a cute little gift for a hostess when they have a family in for dinner or other event – cute, small, usable.

Thought I’d mention that the stamping with the Girl Scouts went well last night.  We made the invitations for their “Bridging Ceremony” as I learned it was called and they seemed to enjoy it.  I wish I could have taken pictures of the girls making their cards and how they colored them but I’m not sure that parents would appreciate it so . . . you’ll just have to take my word for it!

The order for the Thought and Prayers Kits are going in this evening so if you meant to order one but haven’t yet, I’m giving you just a little bit of a grace period.  You can contact me until about 5:00 today and still place an order.   Also, don’t forget to register for the All Occasion Cards class which is coming up next Friday.  There is room for 10 people and thus far I have 5 who have reserved their spot.  Remember, I cannot reserve your spot until I receive your payment.

  1. Where did you get your cork for your bird on a branch? I found a roll of it at Joann, but I haven’t tried it out yet. Is that where you get yours?? I had all kinds of great ideas for it, then new stuff came out, and that idea went by the wayside! I LOVE your Memo pads, and it’s great that you stamped on ALL the Post-Its!

    • I bought my corkboard from Walmart. They sell it in 12×12 squares (4 to a pack). This is thick cork board – thicker than any I’ve ever seen rolled up. It’s really surprising how thick of cork you can send through the Big Shot!

Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving a comment!

  2. THANKS SO MUCH. THIS PROJECT IS AWESOME.

  3. Thank you so much for sharing! This is a wonderful project and something like what I had in mind to do for an upcoming Craft Show! Thanks again!

  4. What platform did you use to get the cork through? I bought some cork at Michael’s that is so thick, I cannot get it through with the sandwich method and it will not cut with just the top part of the sandwich on….

    Help?

    • Hi Carrie,

Are you using the Big Shot to send your cork through? I use the clear plastic on the bottom, die facing up, cork and then clear plastic on the top. My cork is fairly thick and I’ve not had any problems. If you’re using a machine other than the Big Shot then I’m not sure. Hope you can get it working!
