Around the House Class Project

Around the House Class Project

Sunday morning I woke with an idea in my head (don’t you just love those mornings?), I suddenly knew what to do for the Around the House class.  Well, I knew what to try, there’s never a guarantee that what is in my mind will come out through my fingers and look as good as it did in my mind!

Unfortunately I had no time to work on it Sunday, but last evening I did . . . and it turned out beautifully!  Now if I could just capture it well in a picture . . . that’s the harder part!

Would you like to see it?!Leaf MedallionI decided to make a leaf medallion!  This is made on a 12″ x 12″ canvas which will hang nicely.  For some reason I think it’s hard to tell the size by looking at this picture.  It’s also very hard to capture what it really looks like.

Leaf Medallion

As you can see here, the leaves are embossed with gold detail and then cut out with the Big Shot.  It’s quite lovely.

I’m going to bring this along to the Christmas Card class at the library this evening so those in attendance can see it in person.  Of course it will be here at the studio during upcoming classes as well, so if you are here you’ll get to see what it really looks like.

Classes for this project begin on Thursday of this week (I’m early!) so I hope you will make your plans to join us!

  1. very pretty! can’t wait to make this on Thursday

  2. Will you share your directions for this: what is the center made from, how are leaves adhered to canvas? I love this!

  3. How did I miss this one? Well I see the “Around the House Class Project” and wish I could be in the class. I love the gold detail on the leaves very well and it makes them look 3-dimensional. Thank you for sharing this gorgeous creation with everyone and have fun in the class.
