Backyard Basics Bird Card

Backyard Basics Bird Card

I’m not sure why, but I found it a bit tricky to come up with a card using the bird and/or egg from the Backyard Basics stamp set.  I even went out and looked at what other people were making with those two stamps and I wasn’t even finding any inspiration.

The more I pondered, the more I decided I wanted to do Basic Black and Very Vanilla with polka dots.  I’m not really sure why the polka dots, but that’s what struck me at the moment.

So this is what I came up with.  It’s simple and very polka dotted.  It’s not a perfect card but I was satisfied with how it turned out.  I’ll definitely say that they flower is my favorite stamp in the Backyard Basics stamp set followed by the butterfly, I’m sure they will see the most use.  However, with the Stamp of the Month classes I like to use as many of the stamps as possible in class so you have plenty of samples to get your creative juices flowing at home.

Our next Stamp of the Month is the Six-Sided Sampler.  You can check out the details below:

  1. Oh Becky, I think you did a wonderful job on the “Backyard Basics Bird Card”. I for one, would like to receive a card like this one. It looks so real that it reminds me of one little house finch that we have that was sitting by the empty feeder yesterday, and the two tiny eggs that are in a nest in our propane tank. You did a wonderful job Becky, as always. I would like to thank you personally for bringing a ray of sunshine to me even on the rainy days. Your choice of words with each “Creation” are just as important. Thank you again for sharing your talented work and have a nice day. Thanks to your Mom also, she does great work too.
