Baroque Motifs Framed Artwork

Handstamped Powder Room Sign

I made this Powder Room sign a good while back thinking I would sell it at the Markets.  For one reason or another it has not sold.  Perhaps I’m the only one out there with a blue powder room!  In any case, when I stopped by the market the other day I decided to bring it home with me and put it up on my door.

Sometimes those who are new to my house get confused between the garage door and the bathroom door.  Now there shouldn’t be any difficulty in deciding which door to try.

To make this I used the colors of Ballet Blue and Whisper White with the Baroque Motifs and Headline Alphabet (retired) stamp sets.  Ribbon, old retired hodgepodge hardware and pretties from the Pretties Kit add to the overall look.

A long time ago I shared a red version of this same sign that someone special ordered.  I’ll share the picture with you again so you can see how it’s possible to take a general idea and change it to meet another’s wishes.

Baroque Motifs & Headline Alphabet

Should I mention that the lady who special ordered it decided not to purchase it afterall?  Apparently the colors weren’t quite right.  Thankfully someone else came along who purchased it!

Thank you for visiting my website!

I think the frame is the problem because it is much to dark a contrast to the artwork. It’s not like you to make this type of blunder. Either use a mat to transition from blue to such a dark color or use a different color frame.

Nice–I especially like the contrast between the red and the black, but the blue is more appropriate for our (eventually) guest bathroom. Perhaps the blue, since it’s a light blue, would “click” with a lighter frame…something like a honey oak or other light wood.

I would have bought it. I think I might make one for the kids bathroom. There are three doors right together and this would be perfect.

I like them both – that’s neat decoration. I like the dark frames because it adds an elegance to it. Thanks for sharing Becky :)
