Adding to the Memories & Why I had to Cancel Class

Adding to the Memories & Why I had to Cancel Class

On Wednesday I took my youngest child to the urgent care to have them look at his hip since he had been limping for a bit.  I really thought he just had a pulled muscle, but he was walking pretty crazy and I thought I’d better get it looked at.

Walking into the office, I had no idea I’d be walking him back out on crutches and we would be heading to the hospital for surgery! X-rays showed the growth plate in his hip was slipping and it needed to be pinned in place ASAP to keep it from slipping more and creating major issues.

Keeping the story short, Ethan had surgery that evening to have a screw placed in his hip to prevent further slippage and bigger problems.  Ethan and I stayed in the hospital Wednesday night and he was able to come home on Thursday.  I did have to cancel the All Occasion Card class at the library on Thursday, and I appreciate the patience of those who were planning to attend.  I will plan to schedule a make-up date once I can get back in the swing of things.  I think I’m more wiped out from the event than Ethan is!

So, I’m not sharing a project today, but I wanted to let you know what happened here.  Needless to say, I did snap some pictures so this can eventually be recorded on a scrapbook page!

Check back tomorrow for a project!

Cookbook Binder Class

Cookbook Binder Class

I have a sneak peek of the Cookbook Binder to share with you today.  I’m excited about this project and how versatile it can be!

I decided to make my binder totally centered around our yearly Cookie Day. If you know me well, you know I love our Cookie Day, it’s one of my favorite days of the year. A friend and I get together and we make well over 1,000 (yummy, pretty) Christmas cookies and split them.  So, this binder is going to house the recipes we use along with our supply list and I think I’m even going to include a few pictures from previous cookie days in mine.

I’m just going to show you the front today. Hopefully tomorrow or Friday I can share the inside with you.

Now keep in mind that I will have a variety of designer papers for you to choose from, and you can customize colors and wording.

Here is the front of my binder.Continue reading

Journaling with Stampin’ Up! Supplies

Journaling with Stampin’ Up! Supplies

I’m trying out my Stampin’ Up! supplies with something new! I’ve seen some really neat Bible journaling that has caught my eye. I’ve even seen some done with stamps, which inspired me to give it a try as well!

I wanted to have plenty of space, so I purchased a Bible with that has a blank page for every page that has scripture on it.

Check out my first attempt.Continue reading

Decorating for Spring with Stampin’ Up!

Decorating for Spring with Stampin’ Up!

As promised, I’m going to share another way I’ve been thinking outside the box with Stampin’ Up! lately.

I purchased some new furniture for the entryway of our house at the end of last summer, and I have been enjoying decorating it with each new season!  I’m going a little more simple for spring. I’ll just share pictures of the one area, but be assured there is a handmade wreath, flower arrangement, and spring sampler on display as well (all of which have been pictured on here before).Continue reading

Doodling Away a Stampin’ Mistake

Doodling Away a Stampin’ Mistake

Do you ever get that little unwanted line because you inked your stamp too well, and then pressed nice and hard, and you got the line from the edge of the stamp?  Argh!  Don’t you hate that!  Sometimes it’s easy to redo, and other times it’s the very last step in your project and there is no way you’re starting over.

Yep, it happened to me recently. . . Continue reading
