I am so excited for the Elizabeth Class! Tomorrow is our first of four class dates and I’m excited to see so many signing up who are planning to attend. This is one of four card designs we’ll be making for in the box. This one opens a little differently than you might expect.
Inside
When you open the first flap you find another that once again contains the Elizabeth stamp. Open that flap and you’ll have your message.
If you are interested in attending this class be sure to check out the details in the link provided above and contact me ASAP. Please remember I need to order your stamp set. If you decide last minute to attend the class, you can still come, just remember you might have to use my stamp and then get your when it comes in. I will try to stay on top of ordering the sets as you RSVP for the class.
Thank you for stopping by! I love seeing so many comments lately – they make my day!
Here’s is the fourth card we made for the Funky Folds class last night. Boy did we have fun making these cards! A little while back a stamper named Pam challenged me to use the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set and Manhattan Flower embossing folder together on a card. Do you see this Pam? I even used one of your favorite colors!
Open Card
Here’s what the card looks like opened up. Isn’t it lovely! Once again, you have one more chance to take this class – this Friday, September 3. Contact me if you’re interested in taking it.
Here’s the card we made at the party in Bel Air, MD yesterday. Some of you may recognize that we also made this same design in Night of Navy for the last card class.
This particular design is not one of the card included in the Elizabeth class but it’s another idea of how to use the Elizabeth stamp. I hope you will plan to attend one of the 4 class dates we have for the Elizabeth stamping class! You can see more information for it by following the link I have provided.
Did you check out the Stampin’ Up! Clearance Rack I mentioned yesterday? There are some mighty good deals to check out!
I have this inspiration to work with for the 10 minute stamping challenge this week! My first thought when looking at the picture was to make a card with a mosaic design with the Medalion stamp set. Unfortunately, I couldn’t think of any way to make a mosaic in 10 minutes!
I decided to go ahead with the Medallion and try to catch the feel of this picture ( I don’t know what the “feel” is called but this picture but it has lots of different shades and a softness to it) I guess the picture kind of has a Monet feel to it?
Time to start!
With a little apprehension I got ready to start! Why did I have apprehension? My 4 year old was in the same room and he loves to talk . . . .
Perfect Plum Classic Ink
The first order of business was to cut three pieces of Whisper White cardstock. I then took two of the pieces and used a brayer with Perfect Plum Classic Ink to change the color of the cardstock. If you look at the inspirational picture you won’t see any spot that is just one color or shade. I wanted to have a variety of shades of the Perfect Plum giving a softer look than a stark piece of Perfect Plum cardstock. Does that make sense?
Medallion Stamp Set
The next order of business was to use a foam paint brush to apply Frost White Shimmer Paint (page 195 IB&C) to the Medallion stamp. I stamped that onto one piece of brayered cardstock. and set it to the side to dry.
From there I used some Whisper White Organza ribbon, a button from the brights collection and a little bit of string I have handy for such occasions.
Done!
It looks like I made it in exactly 10 minutes! Whew! It’s a good thing I didn’t go with the mosaic design I thought about doing! To his credit, I must say my son only said one word during the whole 10 minutes and when I said “shh” he remembered and went back to his coloring! Unlike what a lot of you think, it’s not often Jaan can go with only saying one word in 10 minutes!
Handstamped Medallion
Here’s the finished card! I think this would be beautiful for a wedding don’t you?
Shimmering Beauty
Here’s a close up so you can see the various shades of the Perfect Plum. I haven’t used the Shimmer Paint a lot but I love the look on this card – it just goes so well with the “feel” of the inspirational picture!
I’ve been working on some other fun projects as well. One you should be seeing before long – it’s a new banner at the top of the page! I’ve also made a fun Silly Bandz scrapbook page that I think you’ll enjoy seeing. Be sure to check back daily for more exciting projects!
This is one of the cards we made in the All Occasion Card Class Monday night. We used Daffodil Delight cardstock for the card along with Whisper White that was embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder. The Certainly Celery leaves were made with the Little Leaves Stampin’ Up! sizzlet die and the Rich Razzelberry [...]
I’m afraid I’m a little late getting this post up today. I usually write up my posts at night and then schedule them to post at midnight, however, last night we lost our power for about 3 hours. This card was made using the Sense of Time stamp set along with Sincere Salutations. This would [...]
I promised a hand stamped card today and here we are! This was made using the Awash with Flowers and the sentiment from A Rose is a Rose stamp set. I’m not going to give you any more details as this time, many of you will be seeing it again in the next couple weeks! [...]
It’s Friday and time for the 10 Minute challenge! I was given these colors to work with. As you can see, the last star says to choose my own color. Hmmm. Well, the only thing I have in Poppy Parade is a Stampin’ Write Marker and I have yet to do anything with this color [...]
