Another Medallion & En Francais Card

by Becky Jensen on May 19, 2010

Medallion & En Francais stamp sets

The creation of this card began with a piece of cardstock which I had stamped on for another card and then put off to the side because it wasn’t quite right.  It seemed a shame to waste the piece of cardstock so I sat down to find a way to use it.

Kind Thoughts Brocade Stencil

I used a lot of different stamps and accessories on this card.  It is probably hard to see but I used the Medallion stamp below the flower.  It is very faint because I sponged ink onto the stamp and then stamped it onto the cardstock.  I also used the En Fraincaise and Baroque Motifs stamp sets.    The image in the lower left corner is from the Kind Thoughts Brocade Stencil

The pearls and flower are from the Pretties Kit.  Hopefully I didn’t go overboard with the pretties but I enjoyed using them!  The flower is held together with one of the small Brown Corduroy buttons.  Below the flower is Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon.

Clear Stampin’ Up! Decor Elements on a Mirror

by Becky Jensen on April 4, 2010

Decor Elemnts Flourishes

We’re going to take a field trip today.  It may not be the most exciting destination, it’s the powder room in my house.  I received a box last week with supplies and stamping supplies for payment to make some cards for Sherrill Graff, a fellow demo.  One of the items I picked out was the Stampin’ Up! Decor Elements Flourishes.

Clear Decor Elements

Taking these pictures wasn’t the easiest thing to do.  I didn’t really want to take a picture of myself taking a picture so you get to see it at an angle.

Flourishes Decor Elements

I chose to purchase the Flourishes elements in clear.  It works great on mirrors or other glass objects giving a nice etched effect without permanently effecting the glass.  It’s a very simple process, you simply have to rub the vinyl onto the mirror (or wall).

Vinyl on Glass

Since we are currently renting our house, the Decor Elements have proved to be wonderful!  I love the fact that I can decorate the walls and mirrors and such without really making changes to the house.  I can do it because the Decor Elements peal right back off without hurting the surface.  It’s the perfect solution for any home (rented or owned), college dorm room, or apartment.

Thank you for joining me for our field trip!  I look forward to stamping with a group of ladies in Rising Sun, MD this evening.  We’re going to have a great time!

More Kind Thoughts Brocade Stencil Projects

by Becky Jensen on March 17, 2010

Stampin' Up! Decor Stencil

I hope you liked the card yesterday because I was still stuck in that same design mode today!  I made both a card and a scrapbook page with the very idea I used yesterday

To make this 4×4 card I used the Kind Thoughts Brocade Stencil from the Decor Elements brochure, the En Francais background stamp, Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon and Very Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware.

Family Portrait Scrapbook Page

Here is the scrapbook page I made with the same basic idea as the card.  What do you think?  This picture is of my parents, my siblings and myself.  I’m the cute little one with pigtails!  This scrapbook page is for inside my father’s scrapbook that he asked me to make.  You can see another page of the scrapbook by following this link to a vintage scrapbook page.

The colors on this scrapbook page page are just a little different from the cards.  I used Kraft cardstock as I did with the cards, however, instead of Chocolate Chip I substituted Soft Suede since it coordinated better with the picture.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing these projects, I’m sure you’ll be seeing this stencil again.  I’m thinking it would be nice with Bravo Burgundy and maybe a touch of Pretty in Pink . . .

by Becky Jensen on March 16, 2010

Kind Thoughts Brocade Stencil

I have a lovely card to share with you today.  This is the first time I have used one of our stencils on a card and I love it!  The stencil is pictured below the card is the one I used here.  This card would be wonderful for either a man or a woman.

En Francais & Wings of Friendship stamp sets

I used Chocolate Chip, Kraft and Very Vanilla as my colors for this card.  The stamp sets I used are the En Francais background stamp as well as the Wings of Friendship level 2 hostess set.

So what do you think?

Punch Pal class

Have you signed up for the Punch Pals class yet?  Today is the last day to sign up for the class which will take place on March 30 here in Stewartstown, PA.  Because the class includes the 5×5 art journal I need to get those ordered to have them in time for class.  Please contact me to join the class here in my home or to take the class by mail.

March 3, 2010

I found three of these on clearance the other day.  They are like cork boards but with no cork, it is a canvas fabric to tack items to.  I thought they were really neat, I had a little Christmas money left and surely I could use them . . . . I decided to use [...]

More of a New Look for my Scrapbook

June 23, 2009

I couldn’t leave the scrapbook alone for long, I needed to get the cover finished.  (See yesterday’s post if you have no clue what I’m talking about.) Today I decided to stencil part of the flourish in each corner in the same style and colors as yesterday.  Once I had that done and at least [...]
