Christmas Gift of Handmade Cards

by Becky Jensen on December 17, 2009

Barr giftOkay, after admitting yesterday that I haven’t stamped anything “new” all week . . . . I got to work today to make a Christmas gift that’s been ordered and come up with something “new” to show you!  You may remember the box shown here from a long time ago when I shared it with you.  I know, I know, nothing new . . . keep reading!

Flower Pot Cardon a boxThe flowers actually pull out of the pot so you can write a little message!

Handmade Box of Handmade CardsWhat’s different is what’s on the inside of the box!  I finally made a set of cards specifically to go inside this box.

Elegant Bouquet CardThe person who will be receiving this lovely box of cards really likes pink flowers.  So, I used the Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder and some sponge daubers and ink to give her pink flowers.  There is a variety of cards in this set, this particular one uses the white satin ribbon (stay tuned during Sale-A-Bration for the new Satin ribbons and the share I’ll be doing!) and “for you” from the All Holidays stamp set.

All Holidays Stampin' Up! Stamp SetThis card also uses the satin ribbon and another stamp from the All Holidays stamp set.  The colors you see on these cards are Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery and Chocolate Chip.

Stampin' Up! Sincere Salutations Stamp SetAnd lastly, this card uses the Pretty in Pink Taffeta Ribbon along with the Sincere Salutations stamp set.

All in all there are 8 cards in the little box and I hope there are enough pink flowers in there to make a smile!  These cards are pretty simple to make thanks to the Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder and the Big Shot.  Of course coloring the flowers with the sponge daubers is a little tedious but as long as you’re willing to accept that there’s going to be ink that gets off the flowers, it’s not too bad.  Really, I think it has a special effect that the “perfect” coloring job wouldn’t have.  This way is more mellow instead of stark.

I’m looking forward to the Stampin’ Christmas Party tonight!  I hope to see you here!
