Today was one of those days when I sat down and within a little more than an hour came up with three new cards. I have to admit I can’t usually come up with them that fast or that easily. Some days I sit there and stare at my supplies and have to drag something out of the depths but every once in a while I can sit down and the creativity abounds. I love these sort of days!
I can show you one of the three cards I came up with this afternoon.
If you know me well, you’ll probably know that this card is a bit out of my normal comfort zone. I’m not typically one for bright colors (especially the Bold Brights) but some reason I do like this Raspberry Tart designer paper. When it came to the large flower from the Pretties Kit I found that I could actually see the colors and design of the paper through the flowers. So, I decided to try soemthing new. I read somewhere before that someone embossed on one of these flowers so I thought I’d give it a try. I used a Versamark ink pad to dab ink (clear) all of the flower and then dumped white embossing powder on it and heated. I did this twice to get a good covering. I like it, the flower is shiny now and a very nice white. I wouldn’t use the embossed flower all the time becuase it wouldn’t always fit the look I want, but it is great for this card!
There are other items in the card that you may not see me using too often. The button is from the Button Bouquet set of designer buttons. Buttons are cute but I just haven’t gotten into using them too much yet. The “friend” and swirlies around it are from the Chateau Bella rub-ons. One of my upline gave me these rub-ons and I am finding myself using them lately but it’s been slow in coming. Now the ribbon isn’t abnormal for me at all, I love using ribbon. This particular ribbon is 1 1/4″ grosgrain in Pink Pirouette.
So, there you have it, something new and a little different for me!
The others two cards I came up with today are for the All Occasion Cards class coming up on Friday, March 13 (wow! Am I really ahead of the game???) I can show you a sneak peek at these cards but not the whole thing . . . you’ll have to come to the class for that! Keep in mind that there is a size limit of 10 for this class and I’ve already had the first person enroll. Be sure to contact me if you want to attend!
