Fifth Avenue Floral & Upsy Daisy Stamp Sets

Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set

I am currently working on a design team right now (two actually) where I will be participating in a bunch of challenges so you will be seeing a lot of different things I’ll be trying out.  This particular challenge was to use the colors from your country’s flag.  It’s pretty funny really, because I’m usually trying to be very careful not to use Red, White & Blue on projects because I’m afraid of making them look patriotic when they really have nothing to do with anything patriotic.  Kinda like avoiding Red and Green together when it’s not Christmas.

Big Shot & Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder

Real Red and Brilliant Blue are not easy colors for me to use so I cheated a little, I went for Bravo Burgundy and Brocade Blue with my Whisper White.  I used the flowers from Fifth Avenue Floral and the sentiment from Upsy Daisy.  The card needed some texture to it so I used the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder on the Bravo Burgundy and I added a little Brocade Blue butterfly from the Beautiful Wings embosslit.  Some Bravo Burgundy ribbon topped it off.

I have a feeling doing these challenges for the design teams are going to stretch me.  I have certain colors I like and I have certain ways of making my cards, what do you want to bet I have to do something I wouldn’t normally do with at least half the challenges coming my way?  It shall be interesting!

This is your chance to try something new too.  Join me by creating something in Red, White & Blue (feel free to fudge a little on the shades of these colors like I did!)  I never would have thought of using these colors with this stamp set before, maybe you’ll try something new too.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by!  I hope you’ll take a minute to leave a quick little message!

Love the colors and what you did with this card! The butterfly is a perfect accent.

Love your choice of red and blue…sneaky little change up but it works beautifully together! The embossing was the perfect touch to this card, too! Fabulous card!
