First birthday cupcake scrapbook page

In an earlier post I put a picture of our Ocean City scrapbook page.  In that same post I mentioned that the scrap club will be using that same basic layout to create a birthday page this month.  For my page I decided to feature my youngest’s first birthday.

12x12 birthday scrapbook pageEthan’s birthday is on Christmas Eve so you’ll notice that I tried to stay away from Christmas colors other than some Real Red.  I want to try to make his birthdays as special as possible without overly focusing on the festivities of the next day.

The Simple Birthday Thanks stamp set makes for a perfect place to journal on a birthday page.  I simply used a Basic Black Stampin’ Write marker to ink the cupcake image (not inking the words on the stamp) and then stamped it.  With Tempting Turquoise and Real Red markers to give it a little color and a Black maker for the journaling it turned out great!

The number one is from the On Board Lots of Letters and I simply inked it with the Whisper White craft ink pad and let it dry.  The “dots” you see are from the Little Pieces stamp set which is retired.  In case you are wondering, the large pciture is an 8×10 and it is cut 1 3/4″ in from the left side.

I had more contact from the the Mason Dixon Public Library in Stewartstown, PA today about beginning a Scrapbook Club.  It’s going to happen!  Stay tuned for more details to follow.
