Flower Pot Gift Box

Boxed Handmade CardsI was cutting cardstock for wedding invitations today (done by special request) and had to take a couple breaks to let my legs relax and brain create!  This is what I made!  I’m very excited about it!

This cute box is just the right size to hold eight 41/4″ x 5 1/2″ handstamped cards and coordinating envelopes.  On the front of the box I made one of the flower pot cards and stuck it to the box.  My favorite part is that you can actually pull the flowers out and write a note for the person receiving the gift (see the 2nd picture).

This would make a great mothers day gift or really a gift for any occasion.  I would think any lady would be happy to receive a gift like this with a cute handmade box and handstamped cards enclosed.

Stampin' Up! Card HolderMost of the flowers, as well as the leaves, are cut out of cardstock using the Big Shot and a variety of dies.  If you look closely you will notice there is a white flower with a pearl from the Pretties Kit and a Bravo Burgundy flower in the middle that is made from wide grosgrain ribbon.  I wanted to add in a little variety so the flowers would not be flat and to add a little texture.

The DSP you see on the flower pot is left over from Sale-A-Bration as is the Certainly Celery ribbon around the flower pot.  The ribbon tying the box together is the 1/2″ Pretty in Pink Striped Grosgrain Ribbon.

If you haven’t signed up for the 5/8″ Stampin’ Up! Ribbon Share yet, today is the last day.  I still have a few spots open if you would like to participate just use the contact button at the top of the page.  This is open to anyone who would like to get smaller portions of each of the 5/8″ ribbons instead of buying full 15 yard spools.  You can read more information by clicking on the link provided, just page down a little once you’ve followed the link.

When was the last time you sat down and created?  Why not try to find a little time today?!

  1. Okay, Becky, I’m thinking this would make a really good Christmas present for my mom, with a variety of Christmas cards…maybe Christmas-y colors…?

  2. Do you make the flower from the ribbon?

    • Yep, the flower is made from grosgrain ribbon – very easy to make might I add. I am in the midst of plannning a class where I will teach out to make these! Keep an eye open for more details!

  3. Very cute! I haven’t tried any of the flower pot cards yet.
