Give thanks for the simple things

by Becky Jensen on April 1, 2009

framed rooster pictureI go the Rustic Rooster stamp set (hostess set) in my box yesterday.  How fun!  I thought I would use it in this frame that I picked up the other week.  I like the final result and my husband says it’s his favorite of all the framed works I’ve done.

I have started a set of tile  coasters to match but it’ll take me a little while until I get those finished.  It’s too bad I don’t have anything in my house remotely decorated in rooster style or I’d want to keep this for myself.  As it is, I’ll take it to the Markets at Shrewsbury and put it for sale at the Pretty Pickins stand.

The colors you see used here are Bravo Burgundy, Always Artichoke, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla.  I used some Vintage Brads and retired hodgepodge hardware.  In the middle is “Give thanks for thee simple things in life” which comes from the retired Give Thanks stamp set.

Once I have the coasters done I’ll take a picture for you to see.

This is really nice! I love this set and found you via a search on Google to see some inspiration. Boy, did I find it here. I got this set as a gift from Tara, my new upline! I just become a S.U. demonstrator after waiting almost a year for just the right time financially. When they let it go for $75, I made it. I am glad I visited your blog and I will return soon. Thanks for the beautiful picture. I wish it was on my wall!
