Handmade Box of Hand-stamped Cards

by Becky on September 8, 2009

Wedding Sweet Handmade BoxI totally forgot to show you this box I made before going on vacation.  What was I thinking?  I wanted to give a set of cards as part of a wedding shower gift and I thought I’d make a box to put them in.

Fresh Cuts stamp setThe base of the box is made out of Brushed Gold Cardstock on which I stamped the large swirly from the Wedding Sweet stamp set using Gold Encore Ink. For the top of the box I used an overhead transparency so the lid is transparent.

The cards are very simple and yet Elegant Bouquet Stamp Setelegant.  It’s not very often that I make cards without any layers but this is one of those times.  The cards are Whisper White cardstock which I ran through the Big Shot with the Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder.  Around the fold in the card I used the Gold Elastic Cord available in the Mini Catalog.  The “Thank you” is from the Fresh Cuts stamp sets and stamped with the Gold Encore Ink.

It would be very easy to take this same idea and switch it up just a little for just about any occasion.  The box is very simple to make and with the clear top it puts the main emphasis on the pretty, handmade, hand stamped cards.

Stamping blog tourI hope you’re looking forward to the Holiday Blog Tour as much as I am!  I created one of the projects today that I’m planning to show you.  You’re going to like it!  In fact, we might even have to have a class for this one.  With the tour there will be four days when each demonstrator featured will have a new Christmas project to show each day.  Each demonstrator will then link to the next demonstrator on the tour.  Therefore, if you visit my blog on the 10th you’ll see my project and then you can follow the link I give to the next person and follow their link to the next person and so on.  We’ll post new projects on the 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th.
