Handmade Carnation Flower Prize

Handmade Carnation

Good morning everyone!  I’m afraid I’m running behind already today, what a way to get started!  With all the ice outside it seems like a good day for a pretty flower to perk us all up!

This beautiful flower and vase were the door prize at the Valentine/Thinking of You card class last night!  I didn’t get a very good close up picture of the flower but even my hubby was impressed with how it looked.  I used the Circles #2 Big Shot die, and the Big Shot of course, with some tissue paper to make the flower.  using the Big Shot to cut out tons of tissue paper circles in one  roll makes these incredibly easy!

Love Impressions Rub-Ons

The little bud vase is a syrup bottle from Cracker Barrell (thank you Linda!) to which I added one of our Love Impressions rub-ons from page 8 of the Occasions Mini catalog.  What a simple little gift to make!  The whole process took merely minutes and brightens any room.  Can’t you just picture a whole bouquet of these gracing someones desk or table for Valentines Day?  I can!  I have plans to make more of these!

I hope you have enjoyed today’s project!  I plan to work on projects for the Above & Beyond class today so perhaps I’ll have one of those cards to share with you tomorrow!
