Handmade Teacher Christmas Gifts

Snow Swirled Teacher GiftChurch was canceled today due to the weather so I got to work on gifts for Micah’s teacher, the teacher’s aide and one of my good friends.  Each of the boxes you see here have 8 cards and envelopes inside them.  I made the boxes out of Chocolate Chip cardstock with the Snow Swirled snowflakes embossed all over it in white and then acetate for the lid.  Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of the actual box.  They are held closed with our Satin Ribbon.

Snow Swirled & Fresh CutsThe cards are made using Almost Amethyst and Chocolate Chip.  I embossed the snowflakes with white embossing powder, the ribbon is Chocolate Chip Taffeta and “Thank you” is from the Fresh Cuts stamp set stamped in Chocolate Chip.  For this particular card I used a snowflake from the felt snowflakes we had available in the mini catalog last Christmas.  I did not have enough of these for all three boxes.  For the other two I cut snowflakes out of Whisper White cardstock using the Snowflakes Set #2 dies and the Big Shot.

I hope the teachers will like the cards.  I figure they’ll have a lot of gifts coming in from students and these will give them a start in the cards they’ll need.  I know I received enough “teacher” trinkets the year I did my student teaching to last me for a lifetime, I’ve no doubt the teachers who’ve been teaching for a while have more than they could possibly ever want!

Don’t forget we’ll be doing a Satin Ribbon share soon with the new Satin Ribbons coming out in the Mini Catalog.  I’ll probably be announcing the details on it in the next day or so.  It would be great if we can get everyone committed early enough to place the order the first day the catalog is available so we can get started using it!

  1. That’s a gorgeous gift! It is actually something useful a teacher would likely be thrilled to receive 🙂

  2. Love the box of cards! Where did you get the box template? Did you make it up yourself? I’d love to do something similar myself!
