Happy New Year 2011!

Memo Board

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and you’re looking forward to this new year as much as I am!  I have many exciting plans floating through my head and I can’t wait to get started!

After taking a much needed break, I’ve hit the StampThat classroom again to start working on some fun projects!  This is a memo board made with Stampin’ Up! Deck the Halls fabric, Victoria Crochet Trim and Antique Brads.  This is my first try at a memo board like the one we will be making in an upcoming class.  I like it!

Those who attend the class will probably not make this exact board but one along the same lines.  They will be able to choose from a variety of Stampin’ Up! fabric, ribbons and buttons or brads to make it unique for them.  If I remember, I’ll try to take pictures of the various boards made in class, it will be so neat to see the variations!

Now, I’m a little ahead of myself here, there are a lot of other classes coming up before this one, but I just had to share my board!  I don’t want to take away attention from our Thank You card class this coming Thursday evening at the Mason-Dixon library.  Be sure to sign up for the class no later than Wednesday evening (I’m extending the RSVP a little since it’s so close to the holidays) so you can join us in making 12 Thank You cards (3 each of 4 designs)!

If you like my memo board, you may want to consider signing up for that class while you’re at it.  The information is below and I’m already accepting registration and payment!

  1. Uh…..what are ribbon scissors? A special type? Or just sharp? I haven’t heard this term before.

    • I tend to call the Craft & Paper Scissors on page 199 of the catalog “Ribbon Scissors” because I only ever use them for ribbon (and I’d say that’s true of most people who have bought them but I might be wrong). You don’t have to have these, just if you have a good pair of scissors for cutting ribbon you can bring those along. It’s not imperative, we’ll just be cutting a bunch of ribbon and it might be nice to have your own pair so you’re not waiting for mine to circulate.
