Holiday Gift Tag Set

by Becky on September 10, 2009

Stamping blog tourWelcome to Stamp That and the Holiday Blog Tour!  I hope you enjoy the items I am going to share with you during this tour and that Hand-stamped Christmas Gift Tagsyou’ll leave a quick comment.  I will be choosing 2 people who leave comments during the 4 days of the tour (September 10th-14th) to receive a small gift from me.

Handmade Gift BoxThe first project I would like to share is a collection of Christmas gift tags.  This handmade box contains 8 3″x3″ cards with envelopes and 20 gift tags.  All of these goodies are bundled together in a box I made out of Real Red cardstock and an overhead transparency for the lid.  Because of the ribbon, you can see it, but there are dividers built into the box to divide the four sections.   The package is tied closed with Whisper White Satin Ribbon.

Delightful Decorations CardThis first 3×3 card was made using the Delightful Decorations stamp set (from the Holiday Mini Catalog)  along with the swirly from Baroque Motifs.  So the ornament wouldn’t appear to be hanging in mid air, I used Silver Elastic Cord (also in the Holiday Mini Catalog) to make it look like it’s hanging.  The ribbon is Whisper White Narrow Grosgrain Ribbon.  I took the same swirly again, inked it with Real Red Classic Ink and stamped it partially on the envelope.

Delightful Deocrations Gift TagThese gift tags are incredibly easy to make with the Delightful Decorations stamp set and the corresponding Ornament Punch!  So they can be easily attached to packages, I punched a 1/16th” hole in the top and attached a jump ring (available where jewelry making supplies are sold) so a ribbon can be strung through it.

Serene Snowflake Stamp SetThe second set of cards were made using Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White.  I really like the Serene Snowflakes stamp set used here.  There’s just something about snowflakes that hooks me every time!  I used the Scallop Edge Punch at the bottom of the Bashful Blue and then the Paper Piercer to add the holes in each scallop.  Once again the design carried over to the envelopes.

Two Cool Dudes Gift TagLastly, here’s the little snowman gift tag.  These were made with the Two Cool Dudes stamp set, Night of Navy Classic Ink, Whisper White Cardstock and Silver Elastic Cord.  To make the tags open I simply folded a piece of Whisper White cardstock and slid it into the Small Tag Punch so the fold was just inside the blade.  (In other words, I wanted to make sure the fold wasn’t cut.)  After the tags was cut, I stamped it (the stamp is larger than the tag so it wasn’t hard to fit it on) and then adhered it to a piece of cardstock that was punched with the Tag Punch.  That sounds much more complicated than it really was, honest!

Thank you again for visiting!  If you’re interested, you can download a Stampin’ Up! Wish List to keep track of the items you would like to see under your Christmas tree this year!  Blog tour links have now been removed.
