Inspirational 15 Minute Card Challenge

For our challenge this week we are supposed to look at this picture and be inspired to make a card in 15 minutes or less (used to be 10 but it’s been changed.)

Ready to stamp!

Let’s see how well I work at 9:00 in the morning!  I was awake (I think) and ready to go!

The first job, as always was to run to the paper cutter ready to cut some Whisper White and Basic Black cardstock.

Thoughts & Prayers stamp set

The inspirational picture made me think of the Thoughts & Prayers stamp set so I grabbed that up along with Versamark ink and some black embossing powder.  The lighting in the picture makes the cardstock look kind of purple and blue but really it’s just plain old Whisper White cardstock, promise!

Ewww, what a mess!

Next I proceeded to make a mess!  Can you tell what I was doing?  Don’t worry, this isn’t my project, just the scrap paper that was under it!

Did you guess brayering?  You’re right!  I used Daffodil Delight, PumpkinPie and Cajun Craze inks.

Done!

I added a little adhesive and ribbon and the card’s done!  It looks like it took me almost 12 minutes.  Not too bad!  Let’s see what it looks like!

Brayered Card

Here it is!  I’m still learning about brayering but I think I did a fairly decent job, especially for morning!

The finished card is a 4″ square with the base being in Cajun Craze.

Close up

Here’s a close up view.  I’m going to have to practice brayering some more, I just never seem to get around to that one!

What do you think?   Does it remind you anything of the inspirational picture?  I’d love to hear your comments!

The Stamp-A-Holics blog post is up with the cards all of the Design Team members made.  Go on over and see how everyone else was inspired and then play along with us, it’s fun!
