Jolly Holiday Scrapbook Page

Welcome back to the Holiday Madness blog tour!  I am part of a design team where I have to make certain projects within a certain amount of time each Friday.  This week we are supposed to create a scrapbook page in 45 minutes (that’s a change, it used to be we only had 20 minutes).  I hope you will bear with me as I use the project for the design team and the blog tour all at the same time!

Scrapbook sketch created on MDS

It was my week to come up with the sketch so I used My Digital Studio to make the sketch you see ablove.  My was to create a scrapbook page that looks sort of like this.

Ready to go!

I have a holiday idea in my head and I’m ready to go!

Cutting cardstock

The first order of business was to run to the paper cutter with my pictures and cardstock.  Ended up I cut some Old Olive cardstock instead of the Jolly Holiday DSP paper I was supposed to cut so I had to run back to the cutter again later.

Jolly Holiday DSP

Once I had the papers cut it was easy to put together the strip with the pictures.  I used a piece of the Jolly Holiday DSP.  It may be hard to see, but I used Very Vanilla cardstock matting under each picture and under the DSP.

Top Note & Timeless Type

The Big Shot came in handy as I cut out two Top Notes (one in Very Vanilla and one in Cherry Cobbler) and then I used the Timeless Type dies to cut out the numbers.

Stampin' Up! buttons

I added some buttons from the brights and neutrals packs. A couple minutes with the Scallop Trim Border punch and . . . .

done!  No problem at all with the time.  It took me just 26 minutes to complete the page.  Granted, it’s a pretty simple page without  a ton of detail.  Would you like to see it?

Here we go!  In case you’re wondering, I only put a border around three of the sides because eventually I will turn this into a two-page layout.  I very rarely make one-page layouts but I’m afraid I just didn’t have time (even off the clock) to make another page yesterday.

The timed stamping challenges on Fridays are so much fun!  I hope you’ll come back on Fridays in the future for more creative timed stamping!

Thank you for stopping by to visit today!  I hope you will leave a quick commit so I will have lots waiting for my approval when I return from the Stampin’ Up! regional seminar tonight!  Don’t forget to continue on the blog tour to visit Laurie and all the other RemARKables!
