Jolly Holiday & Tags til Christmas Card

Bells & Boughs Christmas Card

Wow!  I hope you have been enjoying all the fun projects being shared this week on the Holiday Madness blog tour!  It’s it amazing all projects that can be made with Stampin’ Up! supplies?

Some of you may recognize this card which I made for the Stamp-A-Holics 10 minute challenge a couple weeks ago.  I love this card!  Yesterday when I sat down to stamp I thought I’d take the same basic sketch but start off with the Jolly Holiday DSP and see where it took me.

The Jolly Holiday designer series paper has a whole different flavor than the Deck the halls DSP but it’s also very pretty!  Like I said, my goal was to use the paper and the same basic sketch to create a whole new card.  This is what I came up with.

Jolly Holiday DSP

The Christmas bulb was stamped with the Tags til Christmas stamp set, embossed in gold and punched with the ornament punch.  I decided to add some small basic pearls and add an extra layer to the ornament in Cherry Cobbler.  It’s “hanging” from Very Vanilla 1/8″ taffeta ribbon.

The sentiment was stamped in Cherry Cobbler from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.  I punched it out with the Modern Label punch and then adhered it to Cherry Cobbler cardstock and cut out another layer.  The last step was to attach the label with two gold brads.

Don’t you just love the Satin Ribbon across the bottom?  I think I like how the ribbon turned out on this card even better than the first.  It’s such a neat texture for the card!  All it takes is some Sticky Strip and more ribbon that you would normally use.  Just add the wrinkles as you stick your ribbon down.  Very simple!

So, which is your favorite?  I like them both but I still prefer the first option with the Deck the Halls DSP and Bells & Boughs stamp set – it’s just more my style.  I’d certainly love to send or receive either of these cards though!

Thank you for stopping by to visit!  We have several more days for the Blog Tour.  Whew!  What else can we possibly come up with?!  Hop on over to visit Laurie now and continue you through the tour!
