Lattice Die & Cottage Wall DSP

Dahlia FoldBelieve it or not, I was actually hired to make swaps for a fellow demonstrator, Sherrill Graff,  to take to convention!  Since I’m not going to convention, what can be better than being paid in stamping goodies to create for someone else?

Here is the card.  What do you think?  It is 4″x4″ in size.  The colors you see are Rich Razzleberry, Orchid Opulence, Old Olive and Whisper White.  The accessories I used include the Cottage Wall DSP, Lattice die for the Big Shot, and Ice Circle Rhinestone Brads.  It may be hard to see but I embossed “thank you” in the lower right corner from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.

I have the cutting all done for these cards but I’ve got to say it’s going to take me a while to do all the dahlia folding!  Whew!  I’ll probably never want to do the dahlia fold again after this.  I’m the one that designed it though so I have only myself to thank!  If you’re coming to PMS night this Friday you’ll be seeing these cards in progress I’m sure!

  1. This is beautiful! How many layers does it end up being? When you layer the first three, do you just use a paper cutter do it? Looks lovely!

  2. Hi Laura,

Thank you for leaving a comment! Yes, I do use a paper cutter to cut the first three layers just gradually making each piece about 1/4″ smaller. If you count all the folds in the dahlia I think it totals 7 layers. (4 before the dahlia.)

Thanks to big updates for my computer last night, I have close to half of the dahlia folding done (note, that’s only folding and not putting them on cards – the update wasn’t THAT big!!)

  3. Those are beautiful. How many do you have to make? I was looking at your sneak peek for your boxes and bags class. I wish I lived in your area so that I could attend the class. Looks like you will be making some wonderful boxes and bags. Thanks for sharing.

  4. Hi Roberta,

I only have to make 20 of the cards so it’s not too bad. Still . . . that’s 160 circles to fold for the dahlia fold. I’m just grabbing up some circles each time I sit down to check my email or talk to someone on the phone – it makes it go faster that way. Thanks for stopping by!!!

  5. Great card! I love the center flower with brad!

  6. Wow! These are awesome! Looks like a lot of work, but what a beautiful result!!

  7. Beautiful JOB! This are gorgeous…The Dalia fold looks gorgeous using the Cottage Wall DSP
