My Handmade Stampin' Bonnet

Stampin' Bonnet

One of my upline challenged some of us to make a hat/bonnet using a pattern she had.  It sounded fun to me so I took on the challenge.  Here it is!

Eggcellent Eggs Kit

Here’s a side view.  It may be hard to tell, but I stamped all of the black cardstock with the swirly in Baroque Motifs and then embossed with Black Embossing Powder.  The “diamonds” you see around the outside of the brim are from the Eggcellent Eggs Kit on page 23 of the Occasions Mini Catalog.  Don’t be fulled, you don’t have to use this kit on eggs!

Sweet Pea Stitched Felt

As I was making the hat my middle son happened to find a piece of the Sweet Pea Stitched Felt on my desk.  Thanks to him I just had to use it on my hat!  The flower was too large to use on the brim so I decided to use it on top of the hat.  you can find the Sweet Pea Stitched Felt on page 32 of the Occasions Mini Catalog – I didn’t think I’d like the felt at first, now I’m on my 2nd pack!

Satin Ribbon & Pretty in Pink Epoxy Brad

I used our new Pretty in Pink Satin ribbon (page 27 of the Occasions Mini Catalog) and our new Sending Love Epoxy Brads in Pretty in Pink (page 13 of the mini catalog) for the bow.

I’m going to keep the hat around on display for a little bit but then I know just the person to give it to and she’ll love it!  I’m not one of those people that can pull off a hat but she can!  (Of course she’ll not be able to wear it, it’s only 4 3/8″ in diameter – she’ll enjoy looking at it though!)

Thank you for stopping by to visit!  I hope you will take a minute to leave a comment (especially if you’re attending PMS Night on Friday – hint, hint . . . )

Very nice! I like the fleece flower on the top. :)

Maddie just peeked over my shoulder and said, “Look! There’s Aunt Becky!” when she saw your picture at the top of the page.

Thanks Carole ‘Anne. Actually, I didn’t use any DSP, what you see if normal Basic Black Cardstock that I stamped and embossed in black with Baroque Motifs.

Love this little bonnet. It is a good thing we get challenged by others so we can keep creating. Thanks for sharing!
