Nancy’s Craft Room Makeover Part II

Nancy’s Craft Room Makeover Part II

Are you ready to venture back to Nancy’s craft room with me today?  If you didn’t visit yesterday, You’ll want to check out the Before and After Craft Room pictures I shared with you from my recent work in Nancy’s craft room.  Today I want to share some of the exciting, new accents I added to the room!Craft Room ideasHere’s the overall new look of the room.  I wanted to add some accents that are inspiring for creativity, fit Nancy’s style, and yet are functional.  That seems like a tall order but once I got creating and shopping, it all came together!

handmade cards

When I went to Nancy’s the first day she gave me a tour of her creative space.  One of the things she mentioned was that this little wire shelf was the little space she had to display handmade cards from friends and she could only display about 6 cards at one time so she would switch them out when receiving new ones.  I find I love to have lots of ideas around me for inspiration so . . .

card display board for craft room

. . . I went to work on some memory boards.  I have a good size stash of Stampin’ Up!s retired fabric so I pulled out some fabric, retired ribbons and some buttons to make 3 memory boards in Nancy’s favorite colors.  On this one board I made a scallop circle flower out of designer paper for an extra little accent!

craft room cupboards

I made the boards to fit on the kitchen cupboards doors so they’re not taking any creative space but inspiring and decorative!

craft tool storage

I saw this cute little stand on the clearance Rack at Pier One.  That adorable little wire bird is so cutefun and the cups for storage are perfect for those spray bottles, TV remotes and little tools!  There are even a couple spots for hanging small items!

I matched the bird stand up with this napkin/silverware caddy from The Christmas Tree Shop and they go perfectly together!

hang up your heat tool 3M hooks are always coming to my rescue (I have so many 3M products holding my own craft room together!!)  I used some hooks to store the heat tool and a hammer so they’re easily accessible and yet in their own space.

basket of ribbon scraps

Nancy has a great collection of baskets!  I wanted to be sure to incorporate them into the decor and yet put them to use.  I chose this silver wire basket to house some ribbon scraps but it’s open to the dust . . .

see-through dust cover

. . . no problem!  I cut a piece of Window Sheet from the Stampin’ Up! Quatrefancy Specialty Designer Series Paper pack that just sits on top when nobody is looking in the basket.  Problem solved!

handmade ball is basket decor

I wanted to do a cute little display in this gold wire basket too!  I pulled out all the styrofoam balls I had and decorated them with paper and fabric and ribbons but I still didn’t have enough balls to fill the basket.   Hmmm.  What to do?  Then I had an idea, make balls out of our Stampin’ Up! Baker’s Twine!  I’m so excited about how these balls turned out!  I’m pretty sure I’m going to need to make some for my own home!

Handmade decorative balls

I plan to share a tutorial with you later this week for making these amazing little balls.  They’re so much fun!!

wire marker storage

As soon as I saw this bike at The Christmas Tree Shop I thought of Nancy!  Someone how I managed to talk myself out of purchasing the bike at first . . . but quickly ended up making another trip out to get it.  It’s perfect for her Stampin’ Write Markers and metallic pencils and such!   Don’t you love it?  I was so tempted to get one for my own stamping studio . . . but I did manage to refrain. . . .

Craft room organizationThere is so much more I could tell you about and show you but I will leave you with this last glance at Nancy’s room.

I had so much fun with this craft room makeover, I can’t wait to get started on another!  Are you interested in having me come into your craft room?  Live locally in southern PA/Norther, MD?  I would love to hear from you and see if we might be a match!  You’re craft area may be large, it may be small, it may be just a closet or a corner of a room . . . let’s see how we can make it functional and inspiring!

  1. I was so wrapped up in “Nancy’s Craft Room Makeover Part II”, that I lost track of time. Just as I asked myself, how did Becky make the balls out of the Bakers Twine, I scrolled down to see you are going to post a tutorial, yippee!!! Nancy is very fortunate to have Becky to do a before and after. Thank you Becky for all of your hard work, we all appreciate everything you do. Have a great day everyone!!

  2. Becky, you had done an outstanding job of remaking this space over! I’m so impressed!! You really paid attention to lots and lots of details. I hope your friend just LOVES her new space! It sure is inviting!

  3. Terrific work Becky! And Nancy, what a great space! (I especially love those drawers!!). The bike for the markers, etc has to be one of my favorites, as well as the basket of balls, esp. the one made out of baker’s twine! So inspiring! Nice work! 🙂
