Welcome to day two of the Blog Tour! I hope you had a good time touring through the projects yesterday, weren’t there some great ideas?
I think by now a lot of you know I like to remake trash into treasure. I recently bought this box of envelopes on clearance at a drug store (you have to have a box of these around for those non-handstamped items you have to mail.) I thought I was getting a good deal but it wasn’t until I opened the box that I found out just how good the deal is. Do you see how the box opens? It opens so you can have a neat little holder for the envelopes. As neat as it is though, I thought I could make it a little neater.
This is the half of the box that is holding the envelopes that came in the box. I covered the box with Cherry Cobbler cardstock that is stamped with the Elements of Style stamp set in Early Espresso ink. I also sponged the ink onto the box. (By the way, if you give this a try yourself, it’s always easier to stamp the cardstock before putting it on the box. I’m not always so good at taking my own advice!) Wrapped around the bottom is a piece of Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon.
The second half of the box fits our Small Open-End Envelopes (page 171) perfectly! I covered this box the same way as the other except that I used our new Very Vanilla 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon.
At this point I was on a roll. I was out of box but I wanted to have some storage for my mini square envelopes as well!
Here’s the little box I came up with for my 3 1/8″ square envelopes. I used the same cardstock, the same stamp, ink and ribbon so it matches.
Here’s the entire set. What do you think? One of these days maybe I’ll be able make a box to fit our Medium size envelopes . . . after the catalog party tonight and card class on Tuesday and party on Thursday . . . .
Thank you for your comments yesterday – I always love to receive them! Be sure to continue on the tour to visit Maria and then come back tomorrow for another project!

Ditto on the above comments. You are still the undisputed Trash Queen!!
Great use of the box and your boxes are super. I would never have come up with this idea (can’t seem to get out of the box I painted myself into, lol). TFS
Clever girl, I would have never thought of doing that. Good choice of color. I love Cherry Cobbler and Elements of Style. Another project. Thanks for sharing.
