Razzle Dazzle Melon Mambo

Razzle Dazzle Melon MamboHow do you like my title?  For some reason it makes me think of the witches chant in Macbeth.  Maybe we should come up with a Stampin’ Up! version – Round about the cauldron go: In the mambo ink throw . . . .

Okay, that a little off topic . . . .  Here is one of the pretty cardsMelon Mambo with Old Olivewe made at the Birthday Card Class on Monday night.  I saw a card similar to this elsewhere and decided to adapt it for our class.  We used the new Razzle Dazzle set along with Oval All and then on of our new in-colors, Melon Mambo.

This is a little brighter than my normal style but the color is starting to grow on me a bit.  I guess it just requires breaking out of the comfort zone a little and trying something new.

I made the second card with the thought of using it for the card class, however, quickly realized I didn’t have enough Old Olive grosgrain ribbon, especially since we need it for Scrap Club next week.  Once again, I used the Razzle Dazzle set but this time it’s coupled with Sincere Salutations .

I hope you are having a wonderful week thus far!  For those of you who attend my local events, perhaps you’ve noticed that I’ve been giving out prizes in class for those who have visited my blog the day of class.  Well, I announced last night that I’m going to be doing it a little differently now.  I will be giving out prizes based on comments left on my blog.  You never know how I’m going to pick so I hope you’ll work on leaving me a quick message whenever you can.  For those of you who are not local, you go ahead and leave comments too, you just never know when I might be in contact to ask for your address so I can send you a little prize.  Your comments are very much valued as I read each and every one!

Try to find a chance to stamp this week – it’s a great way to relax!

  1. Becky, is the “Oval All” the punch that does the oval-shaped cut-out? If so, what makes the scalloped version of that same size? Then, of course, the obvious question is, “How much does each cost?”

  2. Really pretty cards! I don’t care for it paired up with the Old Olive ribbon though. On the computer it actually looks like Kiwi Kiss.

  3. I love the melon color!
We must be very different in our color preferences.
I live for the brights. I am glad the new colors are growing on you.
I do own the earth elements collection, so I guess we all can grow and stretch outside of our comfort zone. It feels pretty good to experience different things, huh?

  4. Beautiful cards! I absolutely love them.
