Recycling your Soda Cans to Candle Holders

Flower Folds Bigz XL Die

I enjoy drinking soda, Coca-Cola caffeine free is my favorite.  I was very excited when I saw someone else make these little tea light holders.  What a great way to recycle soda cans!

Tea Light Candle Holders

What do you think?  I cut open a soda can so that it could be laid flat.  If you’re precise you can cut two flowers from one can making one complete candle holder.    All you need to do is lay the metal out flat on the Stampin’ Up Flower Folds Bigz Die and then run it through the Big Shot just as you would a piece of cardstock.

To make the holders I used the two middle size flowers.  If you were to use flashing or some larger piece of metal you could also cut out the larger flower and make a third layer in the holder.

So, do you like to drink soda?  Why not turn your soda cans into something pretty?  Picture these setting on some pretty satin fabric with tulle nearby and some ribbon.  Wouldn’t that be beautiful?  Of course, if you have all that flammable beauty you probably want to use the battery powered tea lights instead of real, live flames!

This is such a cute idea!! Are the edges sharp or do you have to sand each petal??

I have done these and they are so cute. Try the polished stone technique on the silver side and they are also really cute doing them on the reverse side and seeing the different soda can colors! Great job!
