SAH Scrapbook Sketch Challenge

Sketch Challenge

For this weeks Stamp-A-Holics Challenge we were given a sketch to make a scrapbook page.  Now a scrapbook challenge means I have 20 minutes.  As I sat there, before starting the clock, I could only think of one thing I wanted to do, and I knew it was going to take way longer than 20 minutes!

Time to start

You know, I thought about conveniently forgetting to take a picture of the clock but I knew I couldn’t do that. . . .

Deck the Halls DSP

The first task was time consuming.  I decided to cut these lovely flowers out of a sheet of the Deck the Halls DSP.  The trickiest part was that I had to keep the cut out piece as well as the left over piece both in good shape – that made it even more time consuming.

Stampin' Dimensionals

I adhered the “left over” piece of DSP to a 12×12 sheet of Early Espresso cardstock.  The next job was to put Stampin’ Dimensionals on the backs of the flower cutouts.

Popping Flowers

I adhered the flowers right back where I cut them out of.  With the Stampin’ Dimensionals the flowers now pop and the Early Espresso gives a beautiful background!

Yikes!

Oh no!  Look at the time!  I’ve barely started the project and I only have 4 minutes left!  From here on out I didn’t take many pictures and the ones I did take I’m not going to show you, they weren’t too great.  Let’s just look at that clock again and see how long this project really took . . .

Done

. . . Ewww.  Do you think I’m going to be fired as a Design Team Member?  50 minutes is 30 minutes too long!  Oh dear!  Well, maybe the finished project will smooth things over.  Maybe?!  Let me show it to you in parts before we get to the finished project.

Handstamped Ornament

I decided to make some Christmas Ornaments as part of my project.  To make this one I used our Scallop Circle #2 Big shot die, Circle Scissor Plus, God’s Blessings stamp set, gold embossing and our new basic pearls.  Oh, that’s right, I used the Petals-A-Plenty embossing folder too.

Come to Bethlehem

Here’s another ornament using some of the same accessories.  I used the Come to Bethlehem stamp set on this one.  It embosses so nicely with gold!

Holy Family stamp set

And here’s the third ornament.  I used the new Waffle paper from the Holiday Mini Catalog on this one!  I’m liking this paper!  The Holy Family stamp set is retired I’m afraid, but I had to use it for this project!  The swirlies in the corners are from the Baroque Motifs stamp set.

Okay, I’ll show you the complete project now.  Are you ready?

Holiday Mini Accessories

Here we go!  The ornaments are “hanging” from our new Antique Brads – they’re so pretty!  I think this would be lovely hanging in someone’s home at Christmas time.  What if it was framed in a nice Antique White frame with some gold accents?

Okay, am I excused for taking way longer than I was supposed to?
