Snow Swirled Christmas Card

Snow Swirled stamp set

Welcome to day 2 of the Holiday Madness blog tour!  I have two more cards to share with you today that I hope you will enjoy.  Both cards were made with the Snow Swirled and Four the Holidays stamp sets.

Four the Holidays stamp set

This was the first card I made.  I actually made it a couple days ago.  It’s okay but it’s not perfect.   I think it’s the circles, they’re okay but not quite what I want.  Last evening I sat down to make another variation of the card.  Some changes here and some changes there . . .

Hand Stamped Christmas Card

and here we are!  This card has a softer and more elegant look to it.  I stamped the snowflakes, once again from the Snow Swirled stamp set, using the Silver Encore ink pad.  The sentiment is also stamped with the silver ink, leading to the softer look.  It may be hard to see in the picture but I added two layers of our Brushed Silver cardstock and then some Night of Navy 1/8th” Taffeta ribbon.

I personally like this card better but what do you think?  What do you like?  Leave a comment and let us know!  Then, head on over to visit Laurie and see what she has to share!

  1. I enjoy both cards, but I do like the second one a bit more. I think its softer and I love the ribbon touch of it. Very nice!

  2. I definitely like the second card better – I agree about the circles: Too hard-edged or something. The silver is a very pretty touch. Nice job. (But I wouldn’t toss out the first version, either!)

  3. For a Christmas card, I like the second one better too. The snowflakes look more the like snowflakes. I think I’d like the first card in bright colors with a different sentiment (Happy Birthday or Thinking of You) because the “flakes” on that one remind me of PA Dutch hex signs.

  4. Very nice and elegant

  5. They are both lovely and would be easy to mass produce for Christmas cards. And they would be easy to mail! Thanks for sharing!

  6. I like them both for different reasons. Question: Did you heat set the Encore ink? I have trouble with it smearing even after letting it dry OVERNIGHT! Thanks for blessing my day. 🙂

    • No, my encore ink doesn’t seem to need heat setting. I wonder if massaging the ink pad with your finger (covered in plastic wrap :)) would help any? I know sometimes that needs to be done with our craft pads to mix the ink. Sorry I can’t be of more help!

  7. This card does evoke a peaceful feeling. Beautiful job.

  8. Beautiful! I love both cards, but my favorite is the silver! Thanks for sharing!

  9. I really, really, really like this card!!! TFS!

  10. Wonderful cards a great start to the festive season…

  11. I like them BOTH!

  12. Ooooh, pretty!! Love these colors for cards with snowflakes! 🙂 Btw, I also have trouble with my Encore ink smearing…Shari, you are not alone! :-b
