Here are two variations of a Christmas card I made yesterday. I made the blue/green version first and then asked my 4-year-old what he thought, if it looked Christmasy. His response was that the colors weren’t very Christmasy. I asked what colors are Christmas and he said red. Thus, I made the second version. Aren’t kids just too smart?!
Here’s a closer look at the first card. I used some retired Designer Series Paper that was recently available on the Clearance Rack of my online store (unfortunately it is now sold out.) I stamped the Snow Swirled tree with Certainly Celery and used Certainly Celery and Always Artichoke cardstock with Whisper White grosgrain ribbon.
Here’s the four-year-old preferred version. Anyone agree with him? This time I used the Jolly Holiday DSP. The colors here are Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and Very Vanilla. Actually, when I showed him both versions together he said he liked them both. Doesn’t that figure?
We made this version at the Christmas Card class last night at the Mason-Dixon library. Wow! Were we ever hopping last night with 12 people each making 12 cards in 2 hours!
I guess it really depends on your style as to which card you’re going to prefer but I’m interested in hearing your opinion! Please leave a comment and we’ll take a little pole!
