Sozo the Magician Scrapbook Page

2-page 12x12 Scrapbook LayoutOne of the many hats my husband wears is that of a magician.  These pictures were taken at my middle sons third birthday when my husband put on a magic show for the “party” (just us and my brother-in-law were there.)  The boys had a great time!

I didn’t really start out with the intention of this page looking patriotic but I found that all of my sons were wearing red tops with white lines or figures and they all had on navy bottoms.  And then to beat the band my husband had a red cape and jeans.  I just couldn’t ignore the colors, after all, they’re what draws a page together.  So, here the patriotic looking birthday pages.

Stampin' Up! Clear ButtonsOn the left-hand page I stamped the snowflakes from Snow Swirled in Real Red and Night of Navy to add at a little pizazz.  There are two clear buttons tied with Twine over the snowflakes in the journaling area for a little texture.  I used Real Red wide grosgrain ribbon also on the journaling area and a Real Red piece of cardstock with the Magician Hat from Stampin' Up! Punchesscallop punch below it.  In the upper left corner I made a magicians wand and hat using some of our punches and then drew on little lines with a White Signo Gel  Pen.

The White Signo Gel Pen was also used in conjunction with the Paper Piercer from the Crafter’s Tool Kit to make it look like I sewed two lines around the outside edges of the pages.  “Sozo the Magician” was cut out using the Big Shot and Go Go Boots dies.

I still need to add the journaling but there you have my scrapbook page.  I wish I had taken a picture of the page I made at my party today that was based on the left-hand page of this layout.  I used the same idea but with Flower Fancy stamp set and the colors of Regal Rose, Lovely Lilac and Gable Green.  There wonderful colors for a bright little girl page!  Since I don’t have a little girl . . . .

I hope this has inspired you to do some of your own creating!  Have a wonderful weekend!
