Ten Minute Color Challenge Card

I’m running late for this week’s 10 minute challenge.  Oops!  We have out-of-state guests and yesterday we took an all day trip to Washington D.C. so . . . .  These are the colors I have to use to make a card in 10 minutes or less.

Ready to stamp!

These aren’t colors I use often (and they’re mostly retiring colors) but I’m ready to give it a try!

Tart & Tangy stamp set

First I ran to the paper cutter with my Ballet Blue and Whisper White cardstock.  Next stop was the Bit Shot and one of the Texturz Plates from Kit #4 and then I was ready for stamping.  Well, that’s what I thought anyway.  I grabbed the stamp set and realized it wasn’t mounted yet.  Oops!  I like to trim my stamps before mounting them on the wood so I grabbed the Craft & Rubber Scissors and went to work.

Stamping Lemons & Limes

The next step was to stamp lemons and limes using the Crushed Curry and Green Galore.  I punched them out with our 1 1/4″ square punch and then adhered them to layers punched with the 1 1/2″ square punch, both available through stampin’ Up!

Ribbon Dying Time

I grabbed up my Ballet Blue Stampin’ Write Marker and Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon for a little dying.  This is one of the Techniques I shared with my Tech Club last week and they loved it – so very fast and easy!

Done!

A little more stamping and adhering and I’m done!  It’s a fairly simple card but what do you expect for a card made in 9 minutes???

Heard from the Heart stamp set

Here we go.  I did have a little scrap of Crushed Curry ribbon stuffed away in my ribbon scrap bin so I used that in the corner and the Heard from the Heart stamp set for the sentiment at the bottom.

Handmade card in less than 10 minutes

Here it is close up.  Thanks for bearing with me in my tardiness!  Hopefully you’ve enjoyed the card and it’ll give you inspiration for your own stamping!

  1. Becky, you seem to do some of your best work when you are pushed for time – how do you do that?! It is a very pretty card and the colors are fresh and appealing. I hope I can remember this the next time I need a card in a hurry. 🙂

  6. WOW! To make a card so fast! I love the bright and cheerful colors (though I know you didn’t choose them) with this set. Looks like I’m going to have to get it, ha! Your ribbon looks great. I’m going to have to try that technique.

  7. I really like this cheery design. I don’t have the Tart and Tangy set yet, but I can see this one coming my way. Nicely done!

  8. How do you do all that in less than 10 minutes?! Even dying ribbon and trimming and mounting your stamps? Are you a wonder woman or what? Great card, I love how you did the images and only used the blue for the base and the ribbon. Very nice.

  9. Very refreshing card for hot summer days! 🙂
