Thanks for Caring Sympathy Cards

Thanks for Caring stamp set

I told you yesterday that I was hoping to have some time to sit down and stamp purely for fun.  Well, I did, but I did some work too, it really is hard to separate the two when you love your job!  I had some great fun playing with the Thanks for Caring stamp set from the Occasions Mini catalog and I had the Get Well/Sympathy Card Class in the back of my mind.

To make the card you see above I used the Botanical Gazette DSP along with the Thanks for Caring stamp set and the colors of So Saffron, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla and Old Olive.  while creating today I decided it would be fun to do 3 variations of the same card.

Handmade Sympathy Card

Here’s the same card with a little more detail added to it.  For this card I used the Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker to outline each layer of the card giving just a little touch of fine tuning.  I also added some 1/8″ Taffeta ribbon around the Early Esspresso DSP and a butterfuly from the same stamp set.    I stamped the butterfly in Early Espresso but then used a Bashful Blue Stampin’ Write Marker to color it in and a Pacific Point marker to add some little accents.  The butterfly is popped up with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

Elegant Bouquet embossing folder

I went one card farther for the fun of it!  This time I ran the card through the Big Shot with the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder before adding any layers.  I decided to change up the ribbon a little with the wider 3/8″ Taffeta Ribbon with a simple knot in it instead of tying a second piece on.  Lastly, I added some Basic Rhinestones to the butterfly and Basic Pearls in the upper left corner.

It’s always so much fun to dress up a card a little more!  Can you guess what order I made these cards in?  I actually made the 2nd one first, then the 3rd, then the first.  Those attending the Get Well/Sympathy Card Class will be making a variation of this card.  It won’t be exactly like any you see here, it’ll combine a mixture of what you see.  How’s that for mixing things up?

Thank you for stopping by today! I did some more creating yesterday . . . I can’t wait to share it with you!  In the meantime, I look forward to the Baldwin, MD Stamping Technique Club and Laura’s party in Stewartstown, PA today!
