Timed Scrapbook Layout of the Park

Sketch Challenge

I was given this sketch for our “10 minute” challenge this week.  I decided this would be best on a scrapbook page so technically I get 20 minutes to see what I can do with it.

Time to start!

It’s time to get started.  I’m not partial to 1 pages scrapbook layouts so I decided to do a two page layout.

Pictures from the park

Here are some of the pictures I have to work with.  These are pictures from the park where we’ve gone on vacation the last two years.  I’ve got lots of pictures!

In progress

Here’s the work in progress.  To be quite truthful, I didn’t do any stamping or anything fancy at all.  I simply worked with pictures, cardstock, the paper cutter and adhesive.

I’m a little over 20 minutes I’m afraid and it feels like I didn’t really make it very fancy for the amount of time.  I will admit there was a lot of cutting and adhering though that took a while.  Want to see it?

2-page scrapbook layout of the park

Here’s it is!  To be totally truthful with you, I added the strip of Real Red Satin Ribbon after taking a picture of the clock.  I’m not sure if I’m going to leave it there though, I don’t really like it.

This is a very simple layout!  I couldn’t think of anything I wanted to stamp on the pages though and I think the pictures speak well for themselves.  The pictures are busy and the layout doesn’t really need anything else going on to add to the busyness.

Left page

Here’s the left page which was based on the sketch I was given.  I mounted each picture on a piece of Whisper White and then the larger was also mounted on Real Red.  The swere cut with the Naturally Serif sizzlit decorative strip die and the Big Shot.

Right page

The right-hand page is a simple layout of 9 pictures.  The hardest part about making this page is positioning the pictures in the proper location but it wasn’t too bad.

We are going to use this layout for our Scrap Club this Monday at the Mason-Dixon Library in Stewartstown, PA.  This layout will work well for pictures of any occasion.  Bright colors in the pictures will be great or you could go with black and white pictures if you have those.  You’ll definately want to pick an theme for which you have a lot of pictures – 13  in fact!

Thank you for stopping by!  I hope this simple layout has been an inspiration to you as you create your own projects!

  1. Great page, Becky. Nice job with the sketch.
