Timeless Portrait File Folders

Timeless Portraits DSP

I spent some time yesterday working on my special project again.  I used some of the Timeless Portrait DSP to create some extra special file folders for on my desk.  Aren’t they lovely?  I’m so very excited to have such pretty folders!

I covered the front of each manilla file folder (large and small – the small being folders I cut down) with the DSP.  Then I had a brainstorm for the tabs!  I used the Chalkboard Decor Elements on the tabs!  By doing that, I can write on the tabs with chalk (or a chalk marker which is what I’m using) and then when I need the folder for something else, I can just clean it off and start over.

What do you think?  Clever?

Here’s a close-up of one of the folders, I think this one might just be my favorite!  It’s so pretty!  Do you see the mini clothespin?  I’m using those to keep the folders closed, I don’t want them gaping open, I want them nice and tidy.

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing my new file folders.  One of these days I’ll finish my full project and be able to share it all with you.

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you have a wonderful Friday!

  1. Yes, clever – and so very pretty!

  2. This sure beats regular file folders, hands down! I love the idea of using the chalk board decor elements! So clever! And not to mention the adorable mini clothespin! 🙂

  3. Wow, these files are gorgeous! It’s like the DSP was made for them. And I love the tip about Decor Elements. I have the calendar, but wasn’t aware that there’s chalk marker…could never fit my project deadlines in those little date boxes :). Thanks!

  4. I think your idea was indeed clever! I also love the folders done in the DSP that I didn’t order because I couldn’t think of a way to use it. Now (thanks to you) I can’t wait to get an order in.

  5. Very beautiful and creative. Now, if I can only get the time!

  6. Love these! A great way to use DSP.

  7. Becky , these file folders are so pretty and how neat to close them with the mini clothes pin -so pretty. I am hoping your project is how you get all your papercrafting organized.–that is my biggest hurdle -having nothing in a set spot! -ughhhh!!

  8. I love these file folders…you truly have Designer File Folders! You be the designer and using designer series paper! How clever of you. I have some of the timeless Portraits DSP..I’m going to get busy this week end and make some for me.

  9. My desk at work will be the prettiest once I make a pile of these folders! And good advertising for our SU demonstrators — a real conversation starter….thanks for the idea!

  10. I love that one too. Something about simple still life just makes you feel good.
Thanks for sharing. It is beautiful. Sparks some ideas for me to do as well.
