Under the Stars Stamping

Under the Stars CardI often hear people say that guy cards are harder to make than the girly ones.  I’m afraid I have to agree.  I can make them but they often take a little longer than the flowery ones.  When I do make one, they almost always feature the Lovely as a Tree stamp set.

Today I wanted to make a guy card and wanted to incorporate the Under the Stars set.  As you can see, Get well soon handstamped cardI still ended up including Lovely as a Tree.

This card is a simple one but a good example of the masking technique.  Masking is what you do when you want stamped images to appear like they are in front of other stamped images without having to cut them all out.  Perhaps one of these days I’ll get a tutorial on here for you in case you don’t know how to do this.

I thought this card was pretty humorous when I made it, however, neither my husband or sister-in-law have seen the humor that I saw so . . . I think I must just be crazy.  (That’s what happens to a body when you’re home with 3 boys, ages 4 and under, all day!!)  Anyway, I thought it was funny that the bear was sneaking up on the raccoon and then on the inside it says, “Wishing you a quick and complete recovery.  GET WELL SOON”  The poor raccoon!  I thought about putting “Thinking of You . . Please know that  I care.”   Since I’m the only one seeing the humor I didn’t bother!

Think I’m crazy?  Well, this isn’t my normal sort of work but we’re all entitled to some cray things once in a while right???
