Using Up Scraps of Cardstock

Using up scraps

As I mentioned the other day, crafters are always telling me how badly they need to use up their scraps of cardstock.  Well, today I have an answer to your problem!  I recently saw a little box like this that someone else made and I thought it would be so fun to make coordinating cards to go with it while using up my scraps of retired Stampin’ Up! cardstock.

Here’s a close up of one of the 3″x3″ cards.  I used the Square Lattice embossing folder along with the 1 3/8″, 1 1/4″, 1″ and 1/2″ Stampin’ Up! circle punches.  Imagine how easy it would be to pull out some of your scraps while you’re watching TV and just start punching out circles that you can use on these?  Fast, easy and using those scraps!

Retired cardstock

I have so very many scraps still from the color renovation so Jaan (age 5) and I went to work on some of them Friday.  In about an hour, maybe a little more, we made these 28 cards.  Wouldn’t these be cute attached to a birthday gift or attached to a little plate of handmade cookies?  Bundled together, they would make a great gift as well.  Imagine giving these in little boxes or even packaged up in some cellophane bags with cut toppers (also using retired cardstock of course!).

We will be learning how to make the cute little box that these cards fit into for the Boxes & Bags IV class.  After you learn that, you won’t have any excuse not to use up some of those scraps!  Please note, the card making is up to you, I’m just going to teach you how to make the box in class.  (Don’t you just love me?!)

Thank you for stopping by today!
