Vintage Voque on the RemARKable Blog Tour

by Becky on December 30, 2009

Welcome to day 1 of 3 of the RemARKable Love Blog Tour!  I hope you will plan to visit each of the 3 days for the exciting projects I have in store!

I’m excited to share this beautiful “green” project with you!  A friend of mine recently brought me two empty jars knowing I’d find something to do with them.   Thanks Kate!  You inspired me!

I used several new items from the upcoming Occasions Mini Catalog and one item you can get for free from the Sale-A-Bration catalog!  The punched piece of Bravo Burgundy that you see at the top and bottom of the label were made using the Scallop Trim Border Punch.  I just love this punch!!

For the background of the label I used Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel with Bravo Burgundy ink.  The flowers you see are from the the Vintage Vogue Stamp Set.  In the middle of the large flower I used a Build-A-Brad in which I stamped the butterfly from the level 1 Of the Earth hostess stamp set.  The little So Saffron butterflies you see were embossed with the new Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die (and that’s just a couple of the butterflies it does!).  The ribbons I used are Chocolate Chip & Very Vanilla Taffeta ribbon and Bravo Burgundy narrow grosgrain ribbon.

Here’s a view from the top where I used the same big flower with the Build-A-Brad.  Inside the jar are bath salts that I bought at the local dollar store in a blah plastic container.

Of course if the jar of bath salts is going to be a gift then there needs to be a small card with it!  This is a 3″x3″ card made with the Scallop Trim Border Punch, some Chocolate Chip Taffeta Ribbon, and then the flowers were stamped with the Vintage Vogue stamp set, the butterfly with the Of the Earth set and Cherish with the Baroque Motif stamp set.  I just love the colors of Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, Bravo Burgundy and Always Artichoke together!

Here is the set I made with the other jar I was given.  I actually made this set first and then decided to try out the other colors.  This time I used lavender bath salts.  The colors used here are Whisper White, Chocolate Chip and Almost Amethyst.

Here is a close-up of the jar.  I used the Charming stamp set which is in the Holiday Mini catalog, however, this stamp set will still be available in the months to come.  It’s a lovely set!  Once again I used the Scallop Trim Punch and then some Whisper White Organza ribbon.

And here’s the matching card made totally with the Vintage Voque set and then some Chocolate Chip Taffeta Ribbon.

The first set is my personal favorite but each person’s tastes are different – that’s why stamping is so much fun, we can each take the same stamp set and express our individuality with it!  Feel free to let us all know which you like best by leaving a comment!

I look forward to sharing with you again tomorrow!  Please take the time to visit Jannette Shaw’s blog as the next stop along the way.

Love the up-cycling of the empty jars–they never looked lovelier! The Vintage Vogue is totally amazing as is my favorite border punch. Great job.
