Handmade baby shower invitations and decorations

stamped baby shower invitationI recently volunteered to make invitations and favors for a friend’s baby shower.  Since the shower was this afternoon, I can now post pictures!  I didn’t want to post before just in case Lara decided to take a peek at my blog (Hi Lara!).

Here is the invitation design I did.  This is an easy card to make when you use the circle and scalloped circle punches for the neck and legs!  The scallop edge punch decorates the arm holes, eyelets for the snaps, some ribbon and little circle punches for decoration down the front.

As I’m sure you can tell, my friend is expecting a little girl.  Seeing as I don’t have any little girls myself (3 boys actually), I had a lot of fun making these girly items!stamped baby shower favors

The Baskets and Blooms die (exclusive to Stampin’ Up!) made the favors relatively easy to make.  I filled the baskets with M&Ms and then made “flowers” with a retired Sale-A-Bration stamp set from last year and the scallop circle punch.  Lollipop sticks from Walmart worked for the stems.  A lady from my church made cute baby buggy lollipops that were wrapped in a cello bag and tied with ribbon. We placed the lollipops sticking up with the flower.  Very cute!

Lastly, I wanted to use my Pennant die (also exclusive to SU!) to make a banner with the baby’s name on it.  I’m sorry the picture isn’t the best, I had to take it laying out on my carpet in the basement.

pennant bannerI enjoy coming up with favors and invitations for special occasions.  In the past I have come up with ideas for handmade wedding invitations, bridal showers, anniversary party invitations and favors for various occassions as well.  It’s always fun to have something handmade with love to help celebrate those special occasions.

I have Handmade Onesie Shaped Baby Shower Invitations for sale on my Etsy store.

  1. I love your invitations and the candy holders…im just waiting for the ultrasound to see if it is a girl or a boy and if is a girl, i would do your invitation thanks sooooo much…Nadia

  2. Can you tell me what size paper to use? Thank you.

    • To make the onsie card you want a piece of cardstock that is 4 1/4″ x 11″, so in other words, you want to cut the cardstock in half length wise. Have fun making them!

  3. I love this invitation, my sister is having a girl and I would like to make this however Im new to all of this and I dont know where to start. Is it possible for you to send me more details i.e. the size of the punches, eyelets etc. Thanks so much.

Thanks for the tips! these are beautiful, where did you get the cardstock? I’ve been looking but I can only find light paper and is not sturdy enough.

    Thanks!

Thank you for visiting my website and leaving a comment. All of the supplies I used for making the Baby Onsie are from Stampin’ Up! including the cardstock, punches, ribbon and even the adhesives. Our cardstock is 80 lb weight and wonderful to work with. If you are interested in seeing the products we carry you can visit http://www.stampinbecky.stampinup.net and click on the Shop Now button in the upper right-hand corner.

The Baby Onsie cards are very popular and easy to make. I hope you’ll have fun if you decide to take them on!

  31. Hi Becky,

These invitations are beyond adorable! Would you be able to make them for my shower in June? I probably need about 30 or 35 of them. Do they come with envelopes and how much do they cost? Thanks!

  33. Hi Becky, would you willing to make 40 pink baby shower invitations for me? If so, how long would it take? Please advise. Thanks!

  34. We have a young lady at our church that is expecting and want to give her a shower. This card is awesome! I am actually considered a su demonstrator but I donot sell product. WE buy it and us ladies get together to make cards for our ministry and also have other ladies come to minister to them as well. But I am somewhat challenged at figuring out what size punches to use when I see a card so if yu could tell me the products u used I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks and Merry Christmas!!
