I tried something new today that I just learned about. I made these lovely pansies from the Butterfly Punch! I never would have thought these up on my own but I saw them on a couple other blogs today and just had to give it a try. The pansies remind me so much of my alma mater, they always planted tons of these around campus right as spring sprung! (Apparently my husband doesn’t have the same memories I do, when I asked him where we used to see tons of them he guessed Walmart and Sam’s Club. Oh well!)
I think I’m going to plan to give this to my (or for my husband to give this) to my mother-in-law for Mother’s Day. She loves flowers and gardening and this card seems perfect for her.
Besides the butterfly Punch, the other items you see that I used here include the Summer Sun Corduroy Buttons, Silver Hodgepodge Hardware (part of the current Stampin’ Up! Product Share I have going on), Vintage Brads, Sweet Pea Stitched Felt and Whisper White Satin Ribbon.
So what do you think? It would be a bit on the bulky side but I think this card could still be mailed, possibly with a small amount of extra postage needed. For us, we should be able to hand deliver this one.
April 20 – I have added a tutorial for Pansy Flowers to my blog. Just follow the link.
Thank you for stopping by to visit me at StampThat. I hope you have enjoyed today’s card!
Love it! I like the bright colors and the “chunkiness” of it–flowers that aren’t “froofy” … and remember the same influx of pansies every spring … which were then unceremoniously dug up and dumpd at the end of spring, to make place for other plants for summer!
This is a very pretty card. My husband’s favorite flower is the sweet pansy. Thanks for blessing my day :))))
Cute card, Becky! Do you remember on which blogs you found the instructions to make the pansies? I have a couple, but I KNOW there was one where there were step-by-step pictures and instructions to make them, but I can’t find it! HELP! If you could e-mail me the links, I would really appreciate it.
I’m sorry. I’m not having any luck relocating blog I on which I learned about the Pansies. It only had a written description, no step-by-step instructions with pictures.
This is sooooo pretty!!! Now I just have to order that butterfly punch so I can try to make one! Thanks for the great idea!
This is such a pretty card. I love your design, colors, and flowers.
Beautiful card with a GREAT idea!!! tfs
