Kim contacted me and asked how to make the onesie card like I posted a little while back. I thought perhaps others would like to know as well. It really is a fairly easy card to make and everyone loves it!
The first step is to cut a piece of cardstock in half long way. The cardstock should measure 4 1/4″ x 11″. Fold it in half.
You want to use a 1 3/8″ circle punch (item #119860) to cut the neck out of the folded end of the cardstock. Cut just a half circle.
Use that same circle punch to punch out the leg holes (bottom corners of the card).
For the arms, measure down from the fold approx. 1 1/4″ and cut straight into the card about an inch. Be sure you are cutting through both the top and bottom of the card. From there, cut diagonally down to the corner where you punched the leg hole. For the second arm I like to take the piece cut away from the first side and trace it on the second side to make sure they are the same size.
To make the lace around the arm and leg holes you’ll need to once again use that circle punch. Punch a circle out of the white cardstock making sure there is plenty of cardstock on all sides of the hole.
Forget about the circle you punched out, you need the cardstock that you punched the circle out of. Turn your 1 3/4″ Scallop Circle punch (item #119854) upside down so you can position the circle in the middle of the scallop and punch.
Position the lace around the neck and leg holes and adhere. For the arms you can use the Scallop edge punch (item #119882) on some white cardstock and glue to the arms. Stamp and decorate your card as you like.

Yes, you to cut a piece of 8 1/2″ x 11″ cardstock in half to make the invitations. Then you can get two cards out of one piece of cardstock!

where did you get this particular pattern for the card stock. majority of the patterned one’s i found at Joann or Micheals or Amazon are all 12*12.

She used a swirl patterned stamp with pink ink and stamped it on pink cardstock. Keep in mind patterned paper is usually thinner than cardstock.
I personally would use colored cardstock and embellish or do what she did and stamp a background using same colored ink. I love this idea and can’t wait to make one.

I assume you’re asking about the pink onesie. I used Pretty in Pink card stock and stamped on it with a swirly stamp in Pretty in Pink Ink.

Hi Denise – I am so in love with this onesie and how easy the instructions are. Trying to make these for daughter-in-law’s shower but I have a question – do you have a template for the inside? Trying to create one using Word and half the page but my gauge is off. I was going to type on it before printing but I’m worried it will not set up correctly and some of the info will get cut off when I make the cut outs. If I use another piece of paper with similar shape, it might work better. Just can’t get it right. Thanks again for a great tutorial.

Thank you for your comment. I’m sorry, I do not have a template for the inside of the onesie cards. When I made these, I would stamp the inside and with “where”,”when” and then the information was handwritten in.
