Vintage Vogue & Three Little Words

Three Little Words & Vintage Vogue

Here is a card I will be making with a class in Rising Sun, MD today.  Isn’t it lovely!  I used the Vintage Vogue and Three Little Words stamp sets along with the Very Vintage jumbo wheel.  The colors are Sahara Sand, Very Vanilla and Chocolate Chip.

Very Vintage Jumbo Stampin' Around Wheel

When I do anything vintage in style I always like to use one of our sponges and some ink to give the edges an older look.  It’s amazing how much difference a little sponge and ink can make!  If I made this same card and did no sponging on either the Sahara Sand or Very Vanilla cardstock there would be a very big difference and the vintage style would be lost.  The un-sponged version would look very stark and I guess you could say “new.”

Chocolate Chip Epoxy Brad

Do you see the smallest little flower, the white one?  That is one of our Chocolate chip Epoxy Brads from the Occasions Mini catalog.  I just love those little brads!  The pack comes with half of the brads being these little flowers and half are Chocolate Chip and white stripes.  It’s easy to overlook these on page 13 of the Occasions Mini catalog and since the catalog is only going to be around until the end of April, I want to make sure you don’t miss them!

Of course I also used the Sale-A-Bration Scallop Trim Border Punch, it’s one of my favorite punches!  It’s hard to believe this punch and the other Sale-A-Bration times are only going to available for free for just a little longer.  If you haven’t gotten your free items yet be sure to contact me soon!

Thank you for stopping by and maybe even leaving a comment!  I look forward to stamping with the ladies in Rising Sun, MD this afternoon and I hope they will enjoy making this card along with the others!

Handmade & Handstamped Wedding Invitation

Handstamped Wedding Invitation

I was asked to come up with some wedding invitation samples the other day.  I thought I would go ahead and share this one with you because I like it so much!  (I don’t think the bride will mind as it’s nothing like the final invitation will look like.)  I wish it wasn’t so hard to photograph but with all the white it gets a bit difficult!

Wedding Sweet stamp set

The invitation is 9 1/4″ x 4″ in size so it will fit a #10 size envelope (business size to most of us).  I used clear rhinestone brads at the top of the invitation to hold the two sheets together.  Half pearls look very pretty there as well, however, they do nothing to keep the pieces together!

The swirlies you see are from the Wedding Sweet stamp set and embossed in Iridescent Ice.  Iridescent Ice is a clear embossing powder with fine glitter in it.  The embossing gives a hint of texture and sparkle to the invitation without being overwhelming.

Vintage Label & Warm Words stamp sets

At the bottom of the invitation I used the Bride Specialty paper and then made a little medallion using the Sale-A-Bration Vintage Labels and Warm Words stamp sets embossed in silver on brushed silver cardstock.  The medallion is being held in place with our lovely organza ribbon.

Inside the wedding invitation

I’m afraid I don’t actually have writing inside the invitation but I think you can picture what it would look like.  Across the bottom of the top page I used the Sale-A-Bration Scallop Trim Border Punch and then when you open up the invitation the medallion is still visible.  I really should have trimmed down the Bride specialty paper a little more, it didn’t need to take up quite that much of the page.

I hope this is inspirational to you!  I think there is a big trend to make your own wedding invitations, reply cards, favors, save the date cards, and wedding bulletins these days and there is so much you can do to individualize them!  Sometime I’m going to find a big chunk of empty time in my schedule to sit down and come up with lots of ideas . . . !  (Probably when my children, ages 5, 4 & 2) are ready to get married!

Thank you for stopping by to look!

Pretty in Pink Vintage Label Card

Vintage Label Card

This is a card I’ve been wanting to share with you for a little while now.  I just like it so much!  Of course you know I love Chocolate chip and it goes so wonderfully with Pretty in Pink and our new Sending Love Specialty DSP.

Stampin' Up! Boho Blossom Punch

I made these little flowers with the Boho Blossom Punch and mounted them onto the image stamped from the Vintage Label Sale-A-Bration stamp set.  Doesn’t it look so very neat?  This particular image fits beautifully inside the Curly Label Punch!

Vintage Label & Wings of Friendship Stamp Sets

The flower stamped inside the label here is from the Wings for Friendship hostess stamp set, it fits perfectly inside the label and “Best Wishes” is included in the Vintage Labels stamp set.

Have you received all the Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration stamp sets you want for free?  There is still time!  You can get a free Sale-A-Bration item with a $50 purchase (2 free items with a $100 purchase and so on – no limit!) or you can host a party or book party and for each $300 in orders you collect you will receive a free item.   Please contact me and let me know how I can help you reach your goal!

Sending Love Specialy DSP & Epoxy Brads

It’s not easy to tell in the picture but I used the Bella Toile background stamp inked in Pretty in Pink on the Pretty in Pink cardstock.  I didn’t have it there at first but it did a lot for the card!  All three of the brads you see are from the new Epoxy Brads we have in the Occasions Mini catalog.  There are also some Dazzling Diamonds around the outside of the Whisper White cardstock

I hope this card will be an inspiration to you.  Truthfully, I got the general idea for this card from another demonstrator and then changed it up to work for me.  I hope you will take this idea and change it up to work for you now!  I put these ideas out here to inspire you in your creativity.  Most likely you don’t have the same supplies I have but I bet you can take my idea, change the colors and/or the stamps and come up with your own!  Give it a try!

After my post yesterday with the rose I’ve had multiple people ask for a tutorial on the rose.  My schedule for the next couple of days is rather busy with church and the Birthday Card Class but I’m planning to post a tutorial on Wednesday, March 10.  I hope you will stop by to check it out!  (Of course you’ll want to stop by on Monday and Tuesday to see what I post then too!)

Tissue Box to Treasure Box with Stampin' Up! Products

Is it really the last day of the blog tour?  I have so much more trash waiting to become treasures!  Today we’re turning to the tissue box.  Now to be truthful, this is the not exact tissue box I worked with, I was so anxious to get working on it that I didn’t take a picture before beginning.  The one I changed was striped.

Vintage Vogue Stamp Set

Here’s the treasure I made!  This seemed like a good chance to try out one of these special roses I’ve been seeing and of course use one of my favorite stamp sets, Vintage Vogue.

Pretty in Pink Grosgrain Ribbon

The colors I used for the box are Bravo Burgundy, Always Artichoke, Mellow Moss, Whisper White and Pretty in Pink.  I did also use some Chocolate Chip ink to sponge onto the Bravo Burgundy but you’re not going to be able to tell that very well in the pictures.

Ornament Punch

The flower is made out of Whisper White cardstock and the Ornament Punch.  I used a sponge and some Pretty in Pink classic ink to tint the petals.

Inside the box

Would you believe, I was just crazy enough to cover the whole box, inside and out.  By doing so the box is pleasant to look at from any angle but it is also much sturdier.  Now there are at least three layers over every inch of the box so it’s going to be able to withstand much more weight than a regular tissue box.

Clear block storage

There are so many things that can be stored in this special little box.  In the first picture I had a bunch of handmade cards in there, they fit perfectly.  Here you can see that I have our new clear blocks in there.  The entire set fits with a little more room left for extras even.

Beautiful Wings Birthday Card

I decided to design a card that would work well inside the box and be fairly easy to duplicate.  Now I didn’t get enough of these made to fill the box, it’s just an idea.  This is a card we’re going to be making at my card class on Monday evening.

Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set

To make this card I used the Bella Toile and Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp sets, Very Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware, Chocolate Chip Satin ribbon, one of the Stampin’ Up! Backgrounds I texturz Plates, Little Leaves sizzlet die and the Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die.

Thank you for stopping by to visit again!  I hope you  continue to come back to check in once in awhile as I try to post new projects daily.

**I have had a lot of requests for a tutorial for the rose.  Sure!  Please come back on Wednesday, March 10 and I will have one for you! **

The tour is over so all links have been removed.  Thank you for visiting!

Remaking Trash into Treasure with Stampin' Up!

I have another fun project for you today. I’ve taken my trash (and some my friend brought me to saying she knew I’d find something to do with it) and turned it into a treasure. Yesterday I took a dry oatmeal container and small cookie tin to create the what you see below.

Not Quite Navy & Chocolate Chip

See any changes?  These are going to be in the StampThat classroom now holding various goodies!  I’m showing these containers holding cups and plastic-ware but really they could be used to hold so many things!  The little one could hold pens and pencils or candy.  The large one could hold so many different items and goodies I can’t even begin to list them!

Three types of Stampin' Up! Chocolate Chip Ribbon

I used three different kinds of ribbon on here.  The stitched felt ribbon you see on here is no longer available in the Idea Book & Catalog, however, if you visit your demonstrator’s online ordering, it is listed on the Clearance Rack!  It is part of the Alpine Ribbon Originals.  (I should put in that the ribbon looks great with the Sweet Pea Stitched Felt too!)  The other ribbons are Chocolate Chip Double Stitched Grosgrain and narrow grosgrain.

Bella Bleu DSP and Scallop Circle Dies

I made the flower using the Bella Bleu Designer Series Paper and our two Scallop Circle Dies with the Big Shot.  Between our two Scallop Circle Dies we have three different sizes of circles and I used all three of those sizes.  The flower is held together with one of our jumbo brads.

Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel

I used the Very Vintage jumbo wheel to roll Chocolate Chip craft into onto the Not Quite Navy cardstock.  For this smaller container I skipped the middle piece of ribbon so I wouldn’t cover up all the Not Quite Navy cardstock.

Very Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware

This smaller flower is made with the smallest Circle Scallop Die and then our Scallop Circle Punch.  They are very similar in size but the punch is a little smaller.  The pieces of flower are held together with a brad from the Very Vanilla Hodgepodge hardware.

To me, the stitched felt ribbon is what makes these projects.  Being thick, it gives an extra dimension to the containers and finishes off the edges.

Cottage Walls DSP

I thought I’d go ahead and make a second set to show you.  This time I used the Cottage Walls DSP with Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive ribbons.  In the center of these flowers I used a Filigree Brad (page 179 of the Idea Book & Catalog).

Handmade paper flower

Do you see the difference in the containers where the Rich Razzleberry ribbon is compared to the stitched felt?  These just don’t look as “elegant” to me but then I prefer the elegant look to bright and fun I guess.

What do you think?  Which set is your favorite?  Think I should go into business remaking oatmeal boxes?  I’d love to hear what you think!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.  The tour is now over so links have been removed.

Abundant Hope Framed Art

Abundant Hope Stamp Set

I got the idea for this piece of artwork from a fellow stamper named Mary.  It is so incredibly easy and cheap to make!  I used the Abundant Hope stamp set, the Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die, some Mellow Moss Taffeta Ribbon and the Modern Label Punch.

The frame you see is one from a local dollar store.  The packaging said the picture was 3 1/2″ square but I think their measurements are a little off.  It’s smaller than that but it still worked.

Wouldn’t this be a lovely handmade gift to give someone who has invited you over for dinner or for that person that has everything?  I can even picture this on the door for someone who lives in a nursing home, I know they often like to decorate their doors to fit the season.  The possibilities are endless!

Animal Stories Birth Day Card

Animal Stories Stamp Set

I’m sorry for the quality of this picture!  Unfortunately, our water heater decided to go out today and drip water everywhere.  I’ve had to take down my picture studio until the water heater can be fixed.  I’ll just have to take a picture for you later in good lighting!

Anyway, this is the card I made for the card swap.  The swap was a birthday card theme but I decided to take it literally and make it a Birth Day card.  I used stamps from three different stamp sets; Animal Stories, Warm Words, and Whimsical Words.

Thanks for bearing with me!

Wings of Friendship Hostess Stamp Set

Handstamped Card

I decided to get creative with the Wings of Friendship stamp set which is a level 2 hostess set.  This is a beautiful stamp set and I had fun coming up with this card!

Stampin' Up! Satin Ribbon & Pretties Kit

I’ve been wanting to give this a try with ribbon.  I’ve seen a lot of people lapping the ribbon over and I decided to give it a try adding half pearls from the Pretties Kit.  It’s really easy to do the ribbon like this it just takes some extra ribbon and Sticky Strip.

Very Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware

Of course Hodgepodge Hardware is always one of my favorites.  I’m so glad the sentiment in this stamp set fits inside the Designer Label!

Adhesive-backed Rhinestone from the Eggcellent Eggs Kit

Remember the “diamonds” I used on the Stampin’ Bonnet yesterday?  Those rhinestones were in a strip from the Eggcellent Eggs Kit.  Today I want to show you that the Eggcellent Eggs Kit also has individual adhesive-backed rhinestones like the one I used in the middle of this flower.  I really hope Stampin’ Up! will start selling these outside of the kit.  I can see a lot of potential for them!

My handstamped card

To make the background of the card I used the vine stamp and stamped it all over in both Mellow Moss and Always Artichoke inks onto Mellow Moss cardstock and then sponged the edges with Always Artichoke.  For the bird stamp I used Stampin’ Write markers in Bravo Burgundy, Pretty in Pink and Always Artichoke to ink up the stamp.

Thank you for stopping by!  I hope you’re enjoyed seeing my card!
