Presto Patterns Specialty Card

Brayer with Presto Patterns Specialty DSP

This card was made with the Presto Patterns Specialty DSP which is on page 15 of the summer mini catalog.  Like the Bride, Groom and Bridesmaid DSP in the Idea Book & Catalog (which is retiring), this cardstock is foiled leaving a design behind in white once you have added ink.

Pretties Flowers & Brads

Here’s a close up.  I used a Pretty in Pink Epoxy brad in the middle of the large flower.  Those were available in the last mini catalog and not at this time.  In the center of the other Pretties flowers I used rhinestone brads.

“Happy birthday” is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.  I used the Word Window and the Modern Label Punches to cut it out and to attach it to the Whisper White satin ribbon.  In case it’s hard to tell on your screen, the colors used for this card are Pretty in Pink, Whisper White and Bravo Burgundy.

I’m so glad you took the time to visit today!  Thank you for your comments – I always enjoy reading them!

Handmade Card for 10 Minute Color Challenge

This weeks challenge is to use the colors you see above to make a card in 10 minutes.  As I looked at the colors my thoughts where Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Pretty in Pink – no problem!  But Soft Suede??  I have hardly used that color and I just don’t see using it with Chocolate Chip.  It took me a little while to decide how I was going to incorporate that color.

Ready to go!

Okay, I’ve got 10 minutes – let’s see how I do!  I grabbed up my cardstock and ran to the paper cutter.  Back at my desk again I grabbed the rose stamp from the Elements of Style stamp set.

First I stamped in Whisper White craft onto the Soft Suede cardstock and then I cleaned the stamp and stamped it again, just slightly off from the first stamp, in Chocolate Chip craft ink.  See how it sort of pops off the paper when you do that?  So very neat!

Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon

After hitting the image really fast with the Heat Tool (to dry it), I ran into the laundry room to spritz the cardstock with the Log Cabin Smooch Spritz. Unfortunately the spritz sort of dulled the effect of the stamping.  I wish I’d thought to spritz the cardstock before stamping but . . . no time to change it!

I added some Pretty in Pink satin ribbon and held the bow together with one of our neutral brads.  From there I did a little punching and added some pretties until I heard my youngest start to cry upstairs.  It was time to be done whether I was done or not!

Done.

Wow!  I’m done early!  (Well, I probably would have used more of the time up if my son hadn’t been crying but . . . .

My handmade card

Well, what do you think?  I added a pearl from the Pretties Kit onto the neutral brad and some more up in the corner.  Unfortunately the pearls are a bit crooked.  I was having some trouble with my 2-way glue pen when I adhered them on causing a little distraction on my part.  (Later when I had time to look at the glue pen I found that it was coming unscrewed and that’s why it was pouring glue all over the place.)

Close up view

Here’s a close up view of the card.  It’s not perfect but I’m pretty pleased with it considering the amount of time I had.  I hope you’ll take a moment to leave a comment if you like the card!  Thanks for stopping by!

Oh, I did post the handmade motorcycle card I promised, this is the second post of the day so be sure to follow the link or page down for the motorcycle card too!

Stampin' Up! Medallion & En Francais

Medallion stamp set

This is a card I made last week.  Despite my lack of posts last week, I did get a little bit of creating done.  I enjoyed making this card.  I used two of my favorite stamp sets, the Medallion and En Francais.

En Francais Background Stamp

Do you see the little tag hanging from the Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon?  That is one of our new Mini Vintage Tags on page 15 of the Summer Mini Catalog.  I stamped on the tag with a circle from the Circle Circus stamp set and then sprayed it with the Log Cabin Smooch Spritz which can also be found in the mini catalog on the same page.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog!  I hope you enjoy the projects I share with you and I hope you’ll take a minute to write a quick comment letting me know you were here!

Stampin' Up! Elements of Style Scrapbook Page

Elements of Style stamp set

I used the new Elements of Style stamp set from the new mini catalog to make this scrapbook page.  The colors I used where inspired by the couch in the pictures and they look great together with this stamp set!

Left Scrapbook Page

The colors used here are So Saffron, Brocade Blue and Very Vanilla.  The So Saffron ribbon is retired but everything else is very much current at the moment although the Brocade Blue will be retiring with the new catalog.

Scallop Square Punch

We will be making this layout for the Scrap Club tomorrow evening.  I hope everyone will like it!

I’m sorry about the 10 minute challenge I promised to post on Friday.  Life has been so hectic here this week and I’ve been sick on top of everything else.  I’m afraid everything just kind of caught up with me on Friday and by the evening all I could do was lie down.  I’ll try to do better next week!

Handmade Father's Day Card with King of the Grill

King of the Grill stamp set

I wanted to share one of the cards I taught at a card class in Holtwood, PA last night.  We used one of the new stamp sets in the Stampin’ Up! Summer Mini Catalog called king of the Grill.

Medallion stamp set

The ladies had several options for the sentiment which all come in the King of the Grill stamp set.  I personally decided to make the card into a Father’s Day card, I thought it would be nice to a little ahead for a change!

The colors used on this card are Whisper White, Sage Shadow, Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip.  On the background piece of white cardstock we used the Medallion stamp along with the Color Spritzer and a Chocolate Chip Stampin’ Write Marker.

This weekend we have another Blog Tour coming up!  I hope you’ll plan to join us for lots of exciting projects.  We’re going to be focusing on special occasions such as weddings, babies and the like.  I look forward to seeing all the neat ideas that are sure to be shown!

Stampin' Up! Elements of Style

Elements of Style stamp set

I received my new Stampin’ Up! Summer Mini goodies today!  I was able to get a couple new things and I’m very excited about them!  One of them, the Elements of Style stamp set, is what I used on this card.  Aren’t those flowers beautiful?!  I’ve been looking forward to them since I first saw the mini catalog.

Stampin Up! Handmade Card

I wish you could see the Smooch Spritz I sprayed on here!  That’s just one of those things you’re going to have to experience for yourself as it’s terribly hard to photograph but I know you’re going to like it!  The other items you see are probably fairly familiar.  They include the Eyelet Border Punch, Modern Label Punch, Pretties Kit and the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.

I look forward to making many more beautiful handmade creations with this new stamp set in the future!  I hope you’ll be back to see them!

Yesterday I received an inquiry asking if I ever give dimensions and “how to’s” for my cards.  I’m sorry, I enjoy sharing my creations with you, however, I spend a lot of time making my handmade cards, scrapbook pages and 3D items, preparing for events and writing up blog posts each day.  I cannot write up dimensions and directions for each project, there just isn’t enough time in a day!  I hope you will take my ideas and use them for inspiration for your own projects when you sit down to stamp.  From time to time I do offer classes by mail and perhaps sometime you will find you can participate in one of those.

Thank you for visiting my website.  It’s always encouraging to read your comments and know that you have stopped by!  My father had surgery yesterday so I sat down and made him a handmade Get Well card.  I hope you’ll check tomorrow to see it!
