The timed challenge this week is an inspirational challenge. I am supposed to look at this card and use the theme, colors or whatever from it to come up with a card in 15 minutes or less.
It’s time to create!
The first order of business, as always, was the paper cutter. From there I used a fun new technique, one I taught the Technique Club last night. That is what you see pictured here. If you’re not part of the Tech Club . . . maybe you should consider! We learn lots of great techniques!
The Framed Tulips embossing folder is quickly becoming a favorite! I just love this folder and the look it gives! I used the folder on Very Vanilla cardstock.
Next I used the Teeny Tiny Wishes (page 157 IBC) and Silhouette Sentiments (page 11 IBC) stamp sets with a Rose Red marker to make some tags with the Jewlery Tag Punch.
Add a little ribbon, En Francais stamping, some Stampin’ Dimensionals and . . .
I’m done! Whew! It looks like I may have gone a few seconds over but I think it was close enough.
Here we are! I think I managed to pull off the correct colors as well as the wedding theme with this card. Now all I have to do is find someone getting married! Of course one of the Tech Club members last night mentioned this card would work great for a baby girl card too. Too bad I don’t know of any baby girls on the way either . . .
Here’s a close up for you. Rose Red isn’t a color I turn to too often but I think it turned out well! For the fun of it, I made another card, much like this one, using some different colors.
Here we go! I used Elegant Eggplant on this version, now this is my style! I love the colors!
So what do you think? Which is your favorite? I hope you’ll take a minute to leave a comment!
Very good!! I love the card and it fits perfectly with the theme of the picture!!
Too pretty. Don’t you love the Wet Stencil Technique!
This is a lovely card! And I enjoyed learning the technique of the tulip stencil last evening! These cards could really have so many purposes – it would be great for birthday too. Thanks for the inspiration, Becky!
I really like the one with Elegant Eggplant! It really does POP!!
Very Nice card!!
Oh, these are both beautiful cards! I like the Elegant Eggplant one better (luscious color!) but I have to say that they are both lovely. I hope the “wet stencil technique” is in my future!
I really can’t decide! They are both gorgeous as is that beautiful inspiration photo. I’d like to be there right now…LOL. Thanks for sharing!
You site is a favorite of mine, Becky, and your work (techniques, color combinations, etc.) is always inspiring and beautiful.
this is a stunning card, I love the colors and layers…. Thx for sharing your creativity
The photo certainly inspired you to create a beautiful card. I do like the second one more – a little more “regal”.
Really beautiful cards, can’t pick just one 🙂 It would be so fun to learn you technique. I guess my eyes are just too old to pick out any details from the smaller photos. Luv teaching techniques at our workshops and this one looks really fun..Thanks for creating!
I’m like you, I’m not a big fan of red – but the Elegant Eggplant is beautiful. Thanks for the inspiration!
