Best Friend Scrapbook Layout

Stampin' Up! Beautiful ButterfliesYesterday when I was hunting up graduation pictures I came across these pictures of my best friend from college and myself.  So, this morning when I sat down to scrapbook I immediatly thought of these pictures!

I wish the lighting on this picture was better so you could see the page in it’s glory a little better.  The background cardstock is Old Olive from the Earth Elements with accents in Pumpkin Pie (also Earth Elements color family) and Whisper White.  The whole reason I chose these colors was becuase I wanted it to be a summer page and wanted to bring out the orange of my friend’s sweater.

There is a strip of Sweet Always DSP across the top.  The butterflies were cut using the Big Shot and the Stampin’ Up! exclusive Beautiful Butterflies bigz die and then I used the Boho Blossoms punch to cut out the flowers.  For the center of the flowers I punch a 1/4″ circle out of Pumpkin Pie cardstock using a retired punch.

Along the bottom left page there is a strip of Old Olive narrow grosgrain ribbon which is strung through a piece of Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware.  Inside the hodgepodge is “giggle” stamped with the Warm Words stamp set.  I don’t know that I would typically use the work giggle for the two of us but I could tell in these and other pictures I didn’t include that I was incredably giggly that day.  I was getting married days later and my friend had come early to help me prepare and to be my maid of honor.  I was definately giggly.

“Friends” was cut out with the Big Shot and the Naturally Serif sizzlit decorative strip die.  I plan to do some journaling on the white cardstock but I’m not exactly sure what I’m going to say yet.  I think I would like to purchase the Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Write Marker sometime for that journalling too.  I have the Old Olive marker which will work but the Pumpkin Pie would bring it out even more.

My Scrap Clubs in New Freedom, PA and Stewartstown, PA will be making this 2-page scrapbook layout at the club meetings this month.

Thank you for stopping by to visit my blog!  I love to get comments if you have a momment!

  1. Great page! I think the description you gave of the “giggle” sentiment is the perfect journaling for this page. The fact that it’s days before your wedding and she’s there helping you get ready completely change how I looked at the pics.
