Cutting Butterflies with the Big Shot

Beautiful Butterflies Big Shot Die

I was so excited to come across these frames the other day.  They’re almost perfect Top Notes!!  How fun is that?  They were Baja Breeze in color but that didn’t work so I painted them white.

I’m sure you’ve guessed it, it’s for my bathroom!  This particular frame, like yesterday’s stamped artwork, uses a piece of the sheer curtains and then I cut butterflies from Whisper White cardstock and used some Crystal Effects and  glass glitter that was available in the last mini catalog.

Here’s another one.  Once again, the butterflies were cut out with the Beautiful Butterflies Big Shot die and then I ran them through again with the Elegant Lines embossing folder and added some Basic Rhinestones.

Four white frames with butterflies what do you do with all of those in a tiny little bathroom?

You hang them all together!  Oh why can’t pictures look as good as real life?  I guess you’ll just have to come to a class at StampThat! (and then visit the bathroom of course!) so you can see them.

There will be more pictures once the Decor Elements arrive . . . In the meantime, I’m looking forward to Scrapbooking Club tomorrow at the Mason Dixon Library and then Watercoloring and 3D Big Shot classes Tuesday afternoon and evening and then the fun of another wedding at the end of the week.  It’s going to be a busy week!

Thank you for stopping by!

  1. What a beautiful idea. I am always looking for new ideas and this is one I will definitely want to try.

  2. CUTE CUTE CUTE!

  3. Very clever idea. Will the butterflies hold up in the bathroom if the shower is running? Will they wilt

    • That’s a good question Lisa. This is my half bathroom so there isn’t a shower – otherwise, they very well might start to wilt after a couple baths back to back in the morning.

  4. Absolutely smashing! I guess I will have to make that long drive just to see the new bathroom!

  5. Please tell me where you found the frames! I would like to buy all a store has.

  6. You are so talented Becky. I love all of your designs for the new do over for your bathroom. I found it funny that you said that the frames were Baja Blue in color! I think we SU demonstrators see everything through the eyes of Stampin’ Up! I love the butterflies and will need to show these to my sister-in-law! Thanks for blessing my day and for inspiring my art. 🙂

  7. LOVE IT! 🙂

  8. absolutely lovable stuff here 🙂
