Get Moving Blog Tour

Get Moving Blog Tour

It’s that time of the month again . . . Blog Tour time!  The theme this month is “Get Moving”.

Well, around here, the biggest “moving” theme is an upcoming fundraising event.  My older two children are excited to run their first 5k in a little over a week.  Jaan in particular LOVES to run!  He is so excited for the opportunity!  This was very much on my mind when I sat down to create, so I pulled out Jaan’s shoe . . . Paper Shoe

. . . and then made a paper shoe based on it!  I think Jaan will get a kick out of the paper shoe when he sees it!

Handmade paper shoe

I used Basic Gray, Old Olive and Pacific Point for this project.  We do not have any Pacific Point Baker’s Twine so I actually took some our thicker twine and colored it with a Pacific Point Stampin’ Write Marker.  It works for me!

Had I had a little time, and my brain had been thinking a little faster, I think it would have been nice to put some texture to the Old Olive piece on the front of the shoe, but alas, once I used that Sticky Strip, there was no going back!

In case you’re wondering, you can Google “paper shoe” or look on pinterest and find all kinds of patterns.

If you have any interest in getting moving with my boys, we would love to have you join us at the SCA Annual 5K in Shrewsbury, PA  on the morning of April 18, to support the school where my children attend!

Until then, be sure to visit Anne Matasci at the next stop in our Blog Tour!  Thank you for coming by to visit today!

  1. Now that is what I call a great looking shoe that you have created to share with us today. I think it is wonderful that your children are setting an example to encourage other children especially, to get involved in a healthy way in support of their school. The “Get Moving Blog Tour” shoe is a great design for an actual first running shoe, even the colors are great. I would be more than happy to join in on the fun, if I only lived closer. Thank you to your 3 sons for all of the great things they do.
